The Sundarbans area has a network of interconnecting waterways. The larger channels are often a mile wide running in a north-south direction. The rivers and the channels now carry little freshwater as they are mostly cut off from the Ganges, the main source of fresh water. As a result of the subsidence of the Bengal Basin and a gradual eastward tilting of the overlying crust the Hooghly-Bhagirathi channels have progressively shifted eastwards since the seventeenth century.

This is a very pleasant and restful photo with few details and a fine atmosphere. I would have enjoyed to see the boat slightly further to the right, moving into the centre of the photo.

I like this minimalist photo very much, the horizon is almost invisible and the silhouette of the boat is clear, I wonder that this photo is taken in color

Namaste Dwaipayan. This image reminds me of Japanese haikus, minimal distractions, focused impact, distilled mood.Plus elegance. Visual poetry. Pity about the poor response. Best wishes. Klaudio.

Like this one a lot! Extremely moody scene taken under an interesting lights to get such a fantastic tonality result. Very well seen and symmetrically composed. TFS!

it is a well conceived and nicely presented image, the little boat in the middle of the frame suggests to me a timeless image of calm and serenity.

Beautiful shot of the lone boat floating in the river. Good conversion to B&W, it has accentuated the mood of the photo a lot. Very well done and thanks for sharing.

interesting result and idea with this boat in the center of your shot, nice contrast with the grey and foggy tones for the sea horizon, tfs.

I like how the boat is "hanging" in the grey. The silhouette is sharp and interesting. I would only move it a little bit right into 1/3 to leave more room on it's left.

A great minimalist shot. You show that you do not need much colour - and that you can use a lot of dead space - to create a beautiful image. The boat is perfectly positioned in the center of the frame and is at the perfect depth, just giving the viewer a hint of its details. Congrats!

Superb minimalist composition!
And yes, a very beautiful picture, where exposure, (lack) of colors and level of sharpness, also play an important role as to contribute to the beauty of this picture!
TFS - congrats,

Wonderful dreamy shot shrouded by softness of light and grey yet all are all well visible when the horizontal line merges as one. Above all I love such a tranquil atmosphere so well rendered as the boat adds the stark contrast and your little play has worked really well which gives this view a very different feel. Congrats, TFS
Ps; Slight change of pov to the left will greatly improve the compo.

Despite being centered, the boat looks great on these vanished waters. Excellent picture!
