Strasbourg Quai-des-Moulins one beautiful spot in town.
48.581, 7.7424 on the map.
Same place with a tour-boat when passed and its action over the lock prior to sail further downstream, are in the 2 WS's attached.
The area around is decorated with marvelous colors of the flowers on spring blossom's.

Bonjour, cher Ike,
P.S. : Merci pour les photos publiées en ws.

Hi Ike, I had prepared a few photos from Strasbourg for today and one was very similar to this, from the same POV but the light was different. In the last moment I changed for a cathedral :). Lovely view with the flowers. They are still there.

a charming scene from Strasbourg. Good composition and some lovely architecture to look at. Nice reflection.

The reflections on the water are assets to the composition. The length of the canal is giving depth to the scene. The point of view is showing the details, the colors of the houses and of the buildings. The good luminosity is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

You bring us today a beautiful scene from Strasbourg. Nice POV giving depth and allowing us to see the local architecture. Like the flowers in the bottom RH corner. Nice restaurant overlooking the canal. A good place to sit and enjoy a nice glass of wine. From the Alsace region of coarse.

Hello Ike (neighbour)
a beautifully constructed composition this. A vision of the architectural splendour of this city with a wonderful anchor of bright colour in the fg to add to the effect and contrast so perfectly. Like it a lot!
kato (11630) 2013-10-10 5:39
You're capturing well this place by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's impressive to see the calm/narrow canal and old/tasteful houses of both side. It looks like the spectacle pulling the atmoaphere of old times to the present. It's interesting in the modern vehicle in canal of #WS.

So beautiful inclusion of these decorative flowers Ike, good inspiration, good sample of the Alsacian architecture, you forgot a "t" in the city's name, maybe it's deliberate, high resolution and fine colors
ChrisJ (112373) 2013-10-10 6:50
Wonderful reflections and a superb lead in line is provided by the embankment wall at left. The diagonal axis also adds dynamism and the visual trip towards the vanishing point is rewarded with a small bridge a tree and some stunning traditional cross hatch architecture. A pleasant diffused light too. Tfs!

what a lovely place, so elegant, tranquil and inviting. I like very much the smooth dynamism of the perspectives, the fine details and the mesmerizing atmosphere. Despite the unfavourable lighting conditions, clarity is excellent and you have rendered an agreeable chromatic harmony. The flowers in the foreground are a lovely characteristic detail. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have great evening,

Hello dear Ike
What a charming place, set on the canal, it reminds me a little of Annecy in nearby France. You did really well in the difficult lighting conditions, I love the perspective of the 2 banks of the canal, and of course the details of the historical architecture. Excellent work.

very nice the creative perspective of this section of the city with the impressive buildings from the two sides of the canal to are the eye catching of the place.I like the fascinating architectural style of the houses, as the excellent presentation of them.

I think Luciano captured well your "luck" for bad weather:)
But just like he,I don´t think it affects your composition in any meaningful way.Especially that FG(flowers and water) and the architectue are enough vivid and contrasting.
And of course I have to mention th eplace itself-perfect place for a photographer.Charming and very picturesque!
Have a nice weekend

Strasbourg was one of my favourite cities on our Rhine adventure. You have taken a viewpoint which explains why it is so attractive. The canal provides a sense of tranquillity which unites and reflects these outstandingly beautiful buildings. You can feel the sense of pride!
I like the way you have employed the flowers, they add colour, help set the mood and create a sense of depth.
Have a great day,

Notwithstanding it bad weather and the grey sky get we a very nice picture.
Both workshop picture are a very well addition a your first picture with the half timbered facades.
Nice perspective and depth
What a lovely composition, lovely colours.
We get also nice reflections and nice bridge in background.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice weekend,

You chose the best angle to show the first magnitude of this quiet district, narcissic to the point of gazing at its own reflexions in the canal!
Good idea to include a bouquet at lower right; it enlivens the scenery.
eldancer1 (36343) 2013-10-11 7:37
Looks like a nice place to spend a day just enjoying the atmosphere and having a meal. I like the inclusion of the flowers on the right. Good dof with nice details. Well done, tfs.

Exquisite composition, beautiful reflections. Adding the cute architectural style on top of those, you've got a winner.

The day was sad with the sky so gray, but the Magnificent POV, showing us a wonderful corner with beautiful facades makes up for older and have the beauty of the reflections in the canal.
Very good lighting, sharpness is also great.
Enjoy the weekend.

STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL - I LOVE IT!!!
Excellent POV - colours - clarity & I love the reflections.
The overall content of your photo is SUPERB.
jcpix (13914) 2013-10-14 19:38
Hard to go wrong when there's a reflection involved...and this is certainly no different. :) Even if this scene and composition didn't included that element, it would still be attractive and interesting. Amazing what a difference in the color between the reflected sky and the actual, overcast sky above. Love the strong, angled lead in line from the left side of the frame. A very pleasing and romantic look at this section of town, the timbered exteriors have so much visual appeal with the multitude of crossing lines and wooden textures. Nicely done! Have a great day ahead.

Belle composition. Salutations.
jmdias (63444) 2013-11-24 0:35
I liked the architecture and these flowers in the lower corner. the weather was difficult for photos.
Gigidusud (20825) 2014-12-09 13:25
J'aime beaucoup!
unclehotshot (3999) 2015-04-29 5:41
Strassbourg looks like a fine city. I like your composition and the POV allowing a few flowers and a branch to peep into the lens. The frame has been filled in a most competent wat. I do enjoy a fine reflection... you know that.
