Photographer's Note
Sometimes I sits and thinks .. Sometimes I just sits !!!
I had always wanted to get down to the Thames Estuary in Essex and see the mouth of the famous Thames River- Thus completing my journey from its source to when it enters the Channel..
I was sadly disapointed as there was not much to see, well not on this greyish late winters day .. However I did love the Cat and how it just sat on the pavement and enjoyed the view.. and reminded me of the saying above..
Sometimes I sits & thinks... Sometimes I just sits !!!
South End on Sea - like most of the villages and towns on the Thames has a long history..
It was made famous in the Georgian era as a seaside resort and consequently has three railway stations.. one of the longest piers and a place for people to come and have fun and relax.. well maybe the animals as well..

Bonsoir Richard
Des couleurs d'une grande douceur pour nous présenter ce lampadaire dans son cadre de bord de mer et la présence du chat dans le coin inférieur à gauche est un élément qui ajoute du charme à ta composition

Hello Richard,
This is a very well balanced composition. I like the soft natural color tones and the exquisite depth of your shot. Placement of this beautiful street lamp in the center of the frame is a nice choice and breaks the monotonicity feeling. The cute cat adds a great interest and a warm lively feeling too. Thanks for your imaginative and ironic notes too. Have a nice Sunday.

Hello Rich,
Lovely view and I don't blame the cat for enjoying it whilst he sits and thinks. I like the lamp in the centre of your photograph and the silvery colour of the water.
All the best.

Hello Richard,
it was a lucky day for you when the tabby cat decided to enjoy the view, perfectly placed to add not only a little feline interest but it also helps to give depth to a nicely composed shot.

Richard

Hello Richard,
Spontaneously I would have said that the lamppost is too much in the centre, but looking at the photo I think this really suits the composition. The focus on the centre is well balanced by the cat, also by the lines made by the ripples on the water. The mild light and soft colours are very fine.
Regards,
Gert

Hi Richard!
So great with the cat in foreground, watching the view from the top! The composition would surely not be the same without him:)!A great composition, with good sharpness, colours and dof! Well seen!

Hi Ric
Beaucoup de douceur dans les couleurs et la lumière, le top avec le chat dans le coin de l'image regardent la mer, c'est trop mignon, les animaux sont souvent de joli modèle :-)
Belle journée

Hello Rich,
It is good to see that you made the best of your disappointment. That shows an optimist!
My first thought was that the lampost was too central but when i study the composition, I see that the cat, the lampost and the distant lampost are all on a diagonal across the frame so, it's a time to break the rules.
The cat truly is the star; without it, the photograph would have lost its life.
Well done on making a grey day an interesting day.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Richard. An interesting and subtle photo. I take the time to look at all the details. But of course the cat is the real eye-catcher. Well seen and presented. Rgds, Wolfgang.
