Today, we are moving from Moscow to St. Petersburg. I hope you will like photos from this beautiful city.
St. Isaac's Cathedral
St. Isaac's Cathedral was originally the city's main church and the largest cathedral in Russia. It was built between 1818 and 1858, by the French-born architect Auguste Montferrand, to be one of the most impressive landmarks of the Russian Imperial capital. One hundred and eighty years later the gilded dome of St. Isaac's still dominates the skyline of St. Petersburg. Although the cathedral is considerably smaller than the newly rebuilt Church of Christ the Savior in Moscow, it boasts much more impressive fades and interiors.
The cathedral's facades are decorated with sculptures and massive granite columns (made of single pieces of red granite), while the interior is adorned with incredibly detailed mosaic icons, paintings and columns made of malachite and lapis lazuli. A large, brightly colored stained glass window of the "Resurrected Christ" takes pride of place inside the main altar. The church, designed to accommodate 14,000 standing worshipers, was closed in the early 1930s and reopened as a museum. Today, church services are held here only on major ecclesiastical occasions.

Nice picture and viewpoint. But a little bit too much saturation. You could also probably have done with some correction of the converging verticals.
Thanks for sharing,

Hello Sasko, This is a very impressive church adorned with small statues, cupolas, pillars and a magnificent dome. I can only see this as a superlative cathederal. From you notes, I assume it continues to be primarily a museum and only by exception is it used as a church. Good composition for this shot with the benches in the foreground leading one'e eyes to the church. However, I would have liked to see this closer up as it has so many facades to view. OC this would be a bit difficult to do. Regards, Roger

No Cathedrals left un-photoed by you in Russia, you managed well in taking them...
Fine red colomns on this one - and that is what differentiate it from others.

Perfektan rad sa odličnim propratnim tekstom.
Prelepo nebo nad još lepšom arhitekturom katedrale.
Odličan ugao snimanja koji nam pokazuje prilaz crkvi sa klupama i travnjakom.odlične boje i ostrina.
Svetlost gotovo savršena.
Poštovanje moj prijatelju

very nice p.o.v. i like the inclusion of the white benches. The cathedral's architecture is very original at first i took this building for a museam rather than a cathedral.
Fine colors and sharpness.

Wonderful Cathedral! Very attractive and pleasant square!
Sharpness, exposure, pov, colors, pp, contrasts, vertical format, black & white borders and composition are all excellent!
I notice that most russian historical buildings are very colorful! Is that due to any specific reason or architectural style?
TFS - congratulations!

hey, look at that! sunshine!
i like the inclusion of the benches, as they create a sense of depth for the background.
excellent lighting and sharpness.
my only critique would be it appears to be tilted downward.
glad to see some clear weather for you!

Hello dear Sasko, this building is exquisite, on its own it would still be an impressive photo. But I really like how you have included the benches in the FG. They add interest and also the diagonal lines increase the perspective. The colour-rendering is also really impressive, congratulations on this wonderful photo. Thanks for sharing and I wish you a good week, Lisa

This is a nice view of this beautiful Cathedral. Your composition is great using the winding path to lead the eye into the shot. The benches add a nice point of interest in the foreground of the shot. The lighting and colors are fine and the photo has great sharpness.

mi piace l'inclusione delle panchine come elementi di profonditŕ e di contrasto.
Bellissimi come sempre i colori in una buona inquadratura che dŕ il giusto spazio ad un cielo di un intenso azzurro,

wow, so you will show St Petersburg as well. I am looking forward to see it through your camera. This one here is a fantastic start. I love the well saturated colors. The benches and the red path make a nice foreground. Excellent composition,
