As you might have guessed Berber is Albanian for Barber. Barba is the latin word for the beard but a real barber cuts every kind of hair. This barber did cut-throat shaving as well as men's hair in his little shop.
I noticed his white overhall and asked him why is he continuing with this "communist" ways (in communist days all barbers wore these), he responded that if he did not wear it he did not feel like he was at work and could not concentrate!
The tariff for a simple man's haircut in this barbers was 200 Lek (about £1.25.

Aleks he has a good expression on his face and to captivate him in his work like this in a good setting for photo has been done very well. I love the comments about his white coat and his expression gaze from over his glasses..thanks.

A good reporter picture depicting the every day life. I like the way he is looking at you over his goggles.

The title made me a bit confused but I got an interesting explanation when reading the note. It's a fine portrait of a man at work and I like the details and the fine b&w treatment. Last year I noted in a picture that the cost of a Bulgarian haircut equalled anout 2 USD. Currency rates go up and down but it seems that you would pay rougly the same amount in Albania.

I don't know why you choose for black and white.
Nevertheless is your picture very well taken, I like this nice subject with the barber and his young client.
Nice captured, and excellent composed.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice week,

this picture is wonderful as far as composition and character description are concerned. The close point of view is also at the level of the berber's face following him and capturing his movement and intense glance superbly. The seated boy's back and the few items included in the tight frame complement the composition in a comfortable and well balanced way, offering enough information about the berber's daily professional life. I like very much his confident suspended movement while his attention is attracted elsewhere. I love the mild black and white, the natural lighting entering from the window and accentuating his white shirt. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,
