Photographer's Note

As you might have guessed Berber is Albanian for Barber. Barba is the latin word for the beard but a real barber cuts every kind of hair. This barber did cut-throat shaving as well as men's hair in his little shop.

I noticed his white overhall and asked him why is he continuing with this "communist" ways (in communist days all barbers wore these), he responded that if he did not wear it he did not feel like he was at work and could not concentrate!

The tariff for a simple man's haircut in this barbers was 200 Lek (about 1.25.
