taken during a quick trip to paris when i was in my early 20s and on one of those 'wrong boyfriend' adventures ;)
i wandered off on my own from time to time, looking for interesting moments on the streets to photograph.
even thirty years ago, i was drawn to taking photographs of slightly alternative people, they've always seemed more interesting to me.
and to catch this lot lounging against a lounging statue was sheer fun.
perhaps someone can tell me what this statue is? i seem to have completely forgotten (if in fact i ever actually knew.) i believe i took this near the centre georges pompido, which was at that time just five years old and still quite controversial in paris.

I wonder what were these wrong boyfriend adventures :). Thirty years old photo and still good quality. Interesting scene, the monument is interesting and funny, but even more with this group of punks. It must have been fun to see them taking sun there. I do not know where this statue is. When I was in Paris, the Centre Pompidou hasn't been built yet.
Happy New Year

oh eh, oldies but goldies, ha? so, in pursuit of love in paris, you were artsier then, or i get a wrong feeling. this one is no less precious than a photographic classic, clodo will tell whose style it is close to. i appreciate it more, in case you found this one in your treasure chest and prepared it for TE. then it also means you are getting slightly addicted to this place :)
well, i know the artwork: it is "peace out punks" by kristinscamera. for the marble one with aliens, one should recourse to picasso and his friends :)

wow!!i was in my first days of my life at 1982 that you took this interesting shot in Paris.
that man with mustache, remember me Iranian men during our revolution and i think his act make him like a preacher who read an advices for sleeps, and he is your photo`s point.
for me, your photo awake me some revolutionary nostalgia from 70`s. specially in art(music special) and the things that it happen between students at that days.
thank you for share

Bonsoir cher Kristin,
I've been down and out sick for the last few days, but came across this one tonight and just can't help but muster up enough strength to comment on what a great shot this is...love it! It has that "life imitating art" quality, and the black & white is the absolute beauty choice to express this artistic scene.
1982, wow...this looks great for it's time, and a fun and intriguing look back on all accounts. You know, this only helps my part of the Paris vs. Barcelona battle we have going on. ;) A nostalgic and fascinating view of the time period and fashion in this eclectic and vibrant city. I think this would even be enhanced with some added noise/grain to give that retro feel. Really hip and cool photo, you certainly had your vision for photography going even back then.
An advance on wishing you a Happy New Year.
Ciao for now,
