Photographer's Note

Paramakatoi is in a very isolated area of Guyana where subsistence living is a fact of life. There are no vehicles except for a few ATVs. Walking is the main means of transportation, and citizens routinely walk long distances to meet their daily needs.

Thanks for showing us a place that is off the beaten path. I like this combination of landscape, indigenous faces, and the baskets on their backs. The men look very serious and determined.

Hello Kevin,
This is an interesting photo, well exposed and with excellent sharpness. The men's looks indicate they're not very used to cameras and they seem to watch you with some suspicion. Along with the note this photo tells me something about a part of the world that at least I know very little of. I don't think there are a lot of pictures from Guyana on TE.
