Photographer's Note

This is a shot from the shores of the picturesque Pangong Lake located in the state of Jammu and Kashmir in India.

We left Leh around 4 in the morning to reach this Lake after a 5 hours drive. The drive is through barren mountains where you would be lucky to spot a tree after you cross the limits of Leh town. The blues of the Lake present stark contrast with the surroundings and is very soothing to the eyes. And what blue it is, I could count all shades of blue on the lake azure, turquoise, Prussian blue, cyan, you name it and you have it on the waters. But there is a catch you have to reach this lake early to catch these magical colours. I stayed there for around 5-6 hours. Soon after 11 in the morning the reflection of these brown mountains started creeping in on the lake waters and the blue colours were all gone and the water took the colour of these mountains and became dull brown. So if you visit these lakes try to be as early as possible, else you will miss out on a really spectacular scene.
Thanks for stopping by.
