Padstow is a charming working fishing port where watching the everyday ebb and flow of harbour life is a perfect way to spend a day. Surrounded by glorious sandy beaches, no less than 7 bays are within a five minute drive, the town's gorgeous setting at the head of the Camel River Estuary and the natural beauty of the surrounding area – its rugged coastline, quiet coves and fabulous walks make it a must-visit. For foodies, Padstow is a dream destination as the town majors in fresh, locally produced food and is famous for the restaurants of celebrity chefs including Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth. Start and end point for the gorgeous Camel Cycle Trail, Padstow also makes a good base for exploring the South West Coastal Footpath, taking a boat trip or trying out various water sports including fishing, surfing and sailing. Nearby there's also unrivalled golf on the seaside links of St Enodoc and Trevose.

Lovely scene from lovely Cornwall. Excellent bright red foreground, nice with the
action onboard the white boat, and the truck completes the picture of a working harbor.

An excellent advertisement for Padstow Tourist Office:-) Good point of view on this working harbour. I like the layered effect and the presence of the people on the boat, who animate the scene. The image is pleasantly lit and has excellent colours and sharpness.

A great composition to capture a good photo of this harbor. I like how you have planned the FG and the BG of this frame to successfully portray a busy harbor scene. The boats and the fish crates provide dashes of color over the frame. The rolling green hills at the BG looks inviting.
Very well done and thanks for sharing.

J'aime beaucoup cette scène de la vie quotidienne dans un petit port de pèche. Le cadrage est bien fait et l'image fournit beaucoup de détails d'une belle netteté. Les couleurs sont joliment saturées.

Hi Les - It's many years since I visited Padstow and I remember taking the ferry across to Rock with my brother who use to live in Cornwall. What a wonderful part of the UK. This is a lovely layered shot with the lobster pots and fish crates confirming the popularity of the fresh sea food so popular in these parts. I particularly like this view as we can see the far bank of the estuary with the gentle rise of the Cornish landscape in the distance. On a day with the weather as pictured here is there a finer spot to be found? Lovely! Warm regards Rosemary

It's always a pleasure to watch others working and this looks like a fine place for such studies. The pier divides the picture nicely, with activities and fine colours on both sides, plus the big red containers brightening the foreground.
