Her photo was hung there to be looked at. Her Narciso Rodriguez perfume, her glamour--to be coveted. No one passing by looked up at her longing, seductive face. No one cared. It was she who did the longing, there, behind the glass reflecting one old building I always felt happy to frequent, the Ottawa School of Art.
Longing, wrong direction.

Its passion, obsession and arts at the best.No doubt this shot stands tall and declares that you are one of the best with lens, its exposure to light and shades.
No words are enough to describe........
devimeuxbe (58557) 2007-04-09 16:41
It's not so easty to understand this picture but the result is great. The blmack and white is well managed.
Excellent as usual.
SamB (1948) 2007-04-09 17:00
Very interesting piece here, hard to separate the reflection from the reality, and the differing glances of the model and the man are very interesting. A very intense, emotional, and artistic piece.
bostankorkulugu (41334) 2007-04-09 17:02
all i can say is wow... i love the game of reflections here... carmen kass (the estonian top model) is looking at me through your very artistic shot...
"wow" again for sasa (the canadian/hungarian top photographer)...
atlantida (2323) 2007-04-09 17:03
Yes, brilliant as always, what else can I say, I enjoy looking at your photo and the guy inside the frame looks like that too:) The reflection is so gentle and sensitive, very beautiful.
Furachan (0) 2007-04-09 17:04
uite simply this one puts a loy of my feeble attempts at reflections to shame, Sasa. Not onlydoes it manage to tell a story but he placement of the two main "characters" within the frame is exquisite. Beautiful job.
naxius (16685) 2007-04-09 17:08
Hi Sasa and glad to see another great image from you...
I admire you because you can see what nobody (I would say, I of course) can see...and it is just in front of us...
This is a long wait and observation to show up an ambiance, a mood like this composition.
Between dream and reality..just a word: GREAT!
gelor (3229) 2007-04-09 17:10
Très joli travail dans la superposition et très bonne note. Bravo et merci.
Luko (13978) 2007-04-09 17:14
Something christic in that upload (probably Easter influence on me) a hairless, perfumed christ with a shiny soft crown of thorns and a lot more sex appeal to me than the actual one (if they want me in churches, they know how to catch me...).
In the left bottom area, Judas's calling 911 for the police squad.
Clairedelune (4911) 2007-04-09 17:15
One of your nice play with reflections, still life (be it a photo or a mannequin) and action in the street. Difficult, at this size and because of the distortion of the window, to see if the guy is looking at the model or at you or at somebody else (and maybe he is not seeing at all, all too much involved in his conversation on the phone...). So, place is given to many possible interpretations! ;)
There is a detail that I especially like, it is how the wall of the building is giving a texture to her neck. Almost a "reptile" kind of feel! How's that for another interpretation? :)))
I am not very active on TE and I am slowly - oh! so slowly (big surprise!) - learning how to do proper black and white. Your photos are an inspiration, dear! ;) But, sorry for the lack of critiques lately! :(
eleparc (24063) 2007-04-09 17:53
this is so you! it brings me back to my first emotions while looking at your photos when I first came across your portfolio... a world of reflections... ;-) This is honey to my heart and eyes;-) brillant and beautiful!
Cara (2059) 2007-04-09 18:01
Great work, very artistic and intense just diferent and amazing.
Very Well Done,
robiuk (10805) 2007-04-09 18:22
Grace… beauty… strength… depth… sensuality…
vulnerability… etc., to describe For Her, I
suppose... but it's all well incorporated in
this rapiéçage of daily life and people's life.
Your reflections blend so well to the point that
I get completely drowned into it, and then I
wake up not knowing for how long have I been
angelsimon (2466) 2007-04-09 19:30
What can I say about this photo? I think they have told you all. Simply wonderfull. I thought it was a colage but reading your comment i see that is one only shot. Great shot. Congratulations.
pboehringer (770) 2007-04-09 21:09
Sarolta, you got several elements in a very unique and perfect blend. It doesn't only give this play of seduction and longing between the lassive looking model and the full of desire trembling, yet blurred, men on the phone, but it also shows your artistic origins. All in one!
prezntime (3946) 2007-04-09 21:10
I can't get over the play between the beauty and the phone calling "Judas" behind (well, or, infront of...). A true moment to my eyes...the most remarkable moment in photography (for me) is when the photographer appears to be invisable...this could be any moment of any day, someone just looks up to see her longing gaze...only this time you were there.
Dpbours (222) 2007-04-09 23:11
First thing I thought was that you made 2 pictures on top of one another. It takes some good looking to see how you created this and it's just wonderful. Good note as well.
I agree with what some of the others comment; it is just amazing what you see. There are just a few people on TE who have that gift. I'm happy that you share it here and inspire us...
Galeota (10338) 2007-04-09 23:48
I sometimes wander in the city with your reflections in mind trying to find something alike, but never do. I should perhaps change my eyes or mute my skin. I've just read Claire's comment and I also was immediately attracted to her neck, as a snake, which carries something mean, almost pervert, that her angelical face doesn't show, as if it was there longing for a prey. It is a beautiful photograph.
AnimeshRay (9081) 2007-04-10 0:40
A superbly poetic image like very few I have ever seen, Sasa! A beautiful and elegant construction, even to the point of the man and the woman looking virtually to the same vacant spot in space somewhere between them. What a vision!
ktanska (22686) 2007-04-10 2:20
Combination of the photo and reflection is perfect. Only bright areas of the face are visible. Spiky appearance of her cheek is stunning, allowing different interpretations. Cross and other elements are quite interesting.
Very careful composition. But it's the feeling that is important. And I feel this will be a TE classic.
falves (1405) 2007-04-10 2:23
WOW. Your are the master of reflections. This one is no exceptin. The way how real persons, real life mixes up with reflections is so good. It's hard to separate them. It's brutal. Full of glamour. So sexy.
Enidlareg (2317) 2007-04-10 2:33
She's beautiful...Very interesting reflect.
Your photo lets us to see many things: the everyday life (the bus), modernity (the telephone), the beauty of this girl and the glance of this man.
It's graphically very successful.
Your composition is very subtle.
MiguelP (14466) 2007-04-10 3:20
This guy, he looks like reporting about a beautiful woman out of control, like a ghosth of beauty in the city.
So many levels of reality here, Sasa, some decisive moments... It´s very difficult for me to talk about this photo. Just I know that I love it.
cessy (13647) 2007-04-10 3:24
very nice capture of the reflection, it gives sureal street photography
and excellent choice to use Black and white
Prisley (1485) 2007-04-10 3:27
Great reversal! at least once a model would do the longings for passer-by...I love that idea :o)
Her long neck gives heights to the pic elevating even more her look and increasing her distance to that guy on the bottom left.
Very moody pic and extremly elegant. Bravo!
Elaine_Blath (8509) 2007-04-10 4:12
this is unbelievable shot!!! Can´t believe this, so fantastic, all I love: monochrome (and sepia too), reflexions and distorted reality...love this, my favourite!!!!
Take care, Ivana
luisafonso (862) 2007-04-10 4:52
Impressive. These reflections shots of yours are always so good. But some are just stellar. Just like this one over here. It reminds me your Budapest work. I even had to check the place again to see in which city you took it. The black and white is very good. The density of the blacks and the quality of those grays is very good. She looks like an angel over this somber world. It reminds me the movie Wings of Desire. There are no exposed wings here, but her plaited golden hair has some angelic mood I can't really explain. The rest of the scene is indeed cinematic. The light is so good... It's a wonderful photo that leaves me lost in my own words...
tcht (7565) 2007-04-10 5:00
wow..wht a shot! brilliant compo n I love the BW treatment, somewhat dark and well contrasted but most of all it has a very cinematic feel and is almost dream-like. beautifully done!
Hv a nice day,
lucasdasilva (557) 2007-04-10 5:31
A veri good photo of reflection and deception. Difikult to understand but veri good.
anes_lc (14968) 2007-04-10 6:26

wolf38 (29116) 2007-04-10 6:29
Hello Sarolta. Excellent. An exhibition photo with fantastic effect and aesthetics. Like the picture of a dreamer. Outstanding seen and realizes. Simply perfectly. Best regards, Wolfgang.
brevbrev14 (140) 2007-04-10 9:01
Hi Sasa, another great work!
a perfect shot with all your style and great eye..
it seems a vision!
Darren (6823) 2007-04-10 9:45
This is beautiful Sasa, start to finish. I am trying to figure out exactly what I am seeing, but it doesn't matter that I can't figure it out. Composition, tones, the guy in the bottom left; it all works for me. Very nice shot.
vapours (8264) 2007-04-10 11:30
Top quality stuff once again Sas, so perfect that it could easily be two different images done in Photoshop layers. Good eye contact between the two people.
syd1946 (18663) 2007-04-10 13:04
How interesting experiment here. The result is indeed very successfully to enjoy as a composition. It looks like a poster from a 60s film!
nerve (10231) 2007-04-10 14:32
beautiful job, this is a great reflection work sasha.. quite imaginative and artistic as always.. very well done, tc.
jinju (14265) 2007-04-10 23:25
You are too good Sasa. Eh, what can I say? I can though nit pick your note, the guy on the phone seems really interested:)
TravelerNL (3011) 2007-04-11 4:08
Brilliant photo, it looks like to be a combination of two photo's smoothly going from one to another, real artwork. It is very difficult to see which part is reflection and which part is directly shot.
Very well done!
delnaja (2054) 2007-04-11 4:31
Salut Sasa : )
how are you? Hope fine...
A great one, definitely your style... elegant, artistic, the real and the unreal... Don't know why it makes me think of a movie of the 40's or 50's...
Perfect and goes directly into my favs : )
surel (1056) 2007-04-11 11:48
it's exactly wonderful.
bach37 (193) 2007-04-11 14:36
I really don´t know what to say here,
No, it's ART!
AmiBe (6042) 2007-04-11 15:56
A new fav :)
I can't say many words on such a picture, just add to my fav list !
Fantastic, really a fantastic one !
Well done Sasa
Angelillo (9368) 2007-04-11 17:43
I'm not able to know you has taken this shot, but I don't care at all because it's so magnificent, that to see it it's enough for me. It's plenty of expression, passion, sensuality and mystery. It's absolutely and artwork! Thanks for it. Best wishes,
Mistral (15402) 2007-04-11 17:55
stunning composition, a mix of real and reflections not so easy to distinguish so... just stare at your photo, at your technique and hat off to your magic wand one more time!
A smile from the spring of Italy
Newair (323) 2007-04-11 23:24
When I first saw this, it reminded me of Uelsmann. Though its obviously a reflection...it does seem like photo synthesis. My favorite part of this photo is where the building and tree meets the women's face (which btw has a great, somewhat ambiguous expression). Though, the man seeming to look at the women in the bottom left is nice as well. I'd like to hang this one on the wall, TFS
RGatward (20050) 2007-04-12 5:35
Well, it's all been said here many times. Stunning example of a reflection shot, one for my favourites.
sabyasachi1212 (19769) 2007-04-12 11:22
You are so good with these kind of images, makes me wonder what I can do to imitate you:) No seriously, this is one of the most artistic images I have come across in a long time.
With Greetings from India
Paolo (41218) 2007-04-12 12:59
Hi Sasa, excellent and brilliant view with all that different images levels.
the b/w is wonderful and the quality quite perfect.
ribeiroantonio (22631) 2007-04-13 21:32
This is simply extraordinary for a reflection. We can not see the boundary between the building and the face. And her neck made of bricks is wonderful. For me, it is quite difficult to understand the different plans on your shot. But, I like it very much and I see it as a real art work. The B&W is perfect and the highlight of her face is wonderful. Congratulations.
dolin (15647) 2007-04-14 5:49
No comment....just in my favorites.
Great great work....really perfect....poetic.
kensimage (8557) 2007-04-14 23:58
It's almost as if she's longing for the ordinary everyday life that's in the rest of the frame, longing to be riding on a bus or talking on a cell phone. There's a very nice design to the image, Sasa (why am I not surprised?), with the woman's face placed against the dark part of the scene, balancing the young man at lower left. Truly poetic! Regards, Ken.
KevRyan (22932) 2007-04-15 11:51
It said 'Longing' without even looking at the title - a well captured juxtaposition Sasa and a very nice treatment to bring out the image fully from your photograph - poetic street photography of the highest order....beautiful!
back in old blighty today!
best wishes Kev
j4uvikram (57) 2007-04-16 6:18
This play with reflections is great.
I being a novice to photography such a photo seems next to impossible to me.
Really great photo sir.
karinegl (172) 2007-04-16 6:23
I discover your gallery trough this picture I've no idea how you got it, but I like it much.

hey...marvellous shot....out of words to describe.. .cheers.. pracas
cherryripe (21015) 2007-04-23 15:54
Very original reflection shot and so brilliantly framed. The girls lit face contrasts so well with the darker scene. Perfect timing having the guy on the phone.
PeterC (2242) 2007-04-24 3:14
Sasa what a shot. One of the best reflections shots ive ever seen and you had some good ones at that native American exhibition but this one really takes the biscuit. Its so dramatic and the two faces are just perfectly placed. Super super work goes into the faves.
faubry (35373) 2007-04-25 13:33
SUPERB... wonderful shot, i like a lot this artistic image, very good BW, bravo
have a good day
Polonaise (5802) 2007-04-29 19:17
Impossible to pass…impossible to miss…
It's not the first time Sasa, when I realized that you're (probably) the only one person on TE, who - by utilizing someone' photograph (my very own, touch and sensitive subject)…not only creates something meaningful and very captivating but also beautify the poster itself…!!!
This is the rare event where a poster' author should be proud of himself to be…Well…Useful (!).(:-))))
Completely opposite situation to the numerous, brutal
accommodations of using someone's photographic works to present…to present…what is that word…What is it…???
Oh, I got it…
An art with a context !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Marvelous work, Sasa.
Your imaginative instinct at its best…
Have a peaceful evening, dear
markoci (3927) 2007-05-03 6:42
another beauty sasa! absolutely gorgeous.. i am ringing in late on this one so i'm sure most praises have been said.. your "reflections" theme would make a very successfull exhibit i'm sure.. if you ever do it pls make sure u send me an invitation.. (if i can't make it a signed copy of the photo album will do fine :-)...)
Luan (12971) 2007-05-10 7:20
All your style in this picture, I'm agree with Eric...It's you for sure !
Albrecht (11279) 2007-05-15 13:11
Well captured reflections and image. Great shot. Artistic combi.
pieczorin (154) 2007-05-15 13:21
you should sell this image to a perfume company and you would make a fortune! but more seriously, fantastic capture and.... what can i say, into my favs!
Talia (242) 2007-05-16 13:19
i love the man's glance and hers right back at him. sets a cool mood.
Great idea and shot!
sarju (5324) 2007-05-16 14:31
Just wanted to say that I do frequent your gallery pretty often ... and I would consider this photo as one of the excellent addition to your gallery.
Just when I think that I have seen enough of your photos of reflections, you come up with another one, portraying/conveying a very different feelings/emotions from your previous photos.
thanks for showing me the beauty of the city that I live in, but I guess I run through these intricate and small details that you capture in the life of Ottawa
Cheers ..... Sarju
PS: I might wear a red carnation in my buttonhole today :-)
zumoduvas (2069) 2007-05-17 17:46

Amazing shot Sasa!
A photo full of emotion, interesting reflections.
sebinho342 (19317) 2007-06-03 5:56
balatrek (7447) 2007-06-06 18:06
Excellent work, of great creativity and a great beauty, it could say more positive things on this image, but I prefer to observe it and to enjoy. Good work!
marknunnerley (2780) 2007-06-26 4:35
Hi Sasa. This is stunning!! You can't help but keep looking at this and wonder how you got it. It's so good it looks like a montage. A fav. Keep these coming ;))))
AnaFrantz (636) 2007-07-12 4:00
Longing...to me seems that his desires have become a smoke image on the windows. Mistic. Surreal.
Javid (1262) 2007-11-02 1:04
I have nothing to say.
you do the best.perfect.

your creative shot as well. my compliments

missing this kind of great shots with feeling and passion from today’s TE
KristinsCamera (1909) 2013-08-09 8:26
like a scene from a film ~
beautiful, evocative, moody ... and open to many intriguing interpretations, all of which will inevitably be based upon the viewer's own life.
incredible shot, beautifully composed.
