Photographer's Note

Good Morning Everyone,

Yesterday, I was critiquing Craig's (MacJake) sunlit tankers and promised I would find this shot in my archives.

This one also shows how the sun creates an amazing effect. It shows the Staten Island Ferry sailing beneath the guarding gaze of The Statue of Liberty. I promise you, I have not increased the saturation on the boat, that is the effect on it from the very early July sun. It is also tinting the statue.

I took this shot as we sailed into New York after a six day journey across the Atlantic Ocean. What a beginning! You can imagine, I was brimming with excitement!

I learned, later, that the Staten Island Ferry is completely free and provides a fine 25 minute cruise across the Hudson, obviously with good views of the Statue and Ellis Island.

Thank you for your interest, Bev :-)
