Jimi Hendrix "Castles Made Of Sand" (listen the song)
Down the street you can hear her scream you're a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
And now he stands outside
And all the neighbors start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green
And so castles made of sand fall in the sea, eventually
A little Indian brave who before he was ten,
Played war games in the woods with his Indian friends
And he built up a dream that when he grew up
He would be a fearless warrior Indian Cheif
Many moons past and more the dream grew strong until
Tomorrow he would sing his first war song and fight his first battle
But something went wrong, surprise attack killed him in his sleep that night
And so castles made of sand melts into the sea, eventually
There was a young girl, who's heart was a frown
Cause she was crippled for life,
And she couldn't speak a sound
And she wished and prayed she could stop living,
So she decided to die
She drew her wheelchair to the edge of the shore
And to her legs she smiled you wont hurt me no more
But then a sight she'd never seen made her jump and say
Look a golden winged ship is passing my way
And it really didn't have to stop, it just kept on going...
And so castles made of sand slips into the sea, eventually.
In WS a B&W crop of the photo.

You almost got me there, in the thumbnail it looks like the real thing! Almost.
In particular IO like the great light that gives life to the sand...
Well framed, great sharpness!

Very nice capture of this typical sandbeach scenery.
What makes it different is, the nice warm sidelight which creates a nice graphism.
TFS and best regards

Complimenti.
Un caro abbraccio.

i also like the low point of view with the water in the background.

Ciao dear Vasilis,
in its simplicity, this image is very beautiful and meaningful. A photo that perfectly accompanies the song of Jimi Hendrix. Excellent work, dear friend, that not only shows your photographic cleverness, but also your sensibility for the life.
Ciao, have a nice week!
Angshu (56760) 2011-02-07 3:51
Good low POV & fine clarity in the shot to show us almost all the grains of the sand, hit by the mellow light. The shallow DOF helps is putting our focus on the castle
annjackman (21903) 2011-02-07 5:23
A lovely idea that has worked well. The light is beautiful, picking out the grains of sand. I wonder whether the sea came in soon after and washed the castles away. Original picture - congratulations.
raszid62 (18515) 2011-02-07 5:52

I love Greece (mostly in Crete and Rhodes), I love the beach, I would like to re-build a sand castle (unfortunately I'm too old to it) and I love Jimi Hendrix.
Now I got everything at once. What they want even more? :-)
MichaelTrezzi (3368) 2011-05-10 13:08
Hello Vasilis, the low angle emphasizes the detail and structure of the sand. I like your sense for common things, which you present in an uncommon way. TFS, Kind regads, Michael
