Photographer's Note
While visiting the Milan Cathedral (il Duomo), I had the luck to see a religious ceremony not so frequent, probably an ordination.
Ordination is one of the seven sacraments of Catholicism. The term "ordination" comes from the Latin "ordinatio", meaning "bringing into order" or "action to organize the distribution of burdens." After the ceremony, the ordaining person becomes a priest, or a deacon.
The other six sacraments are baptism, confirmation, eucharist, penance, marriage and anointing of the sick.
Photo taken at arms length, a chance that it is not too blurry!

hi delphine,
you have composed this very well and presented it perfectly. the scene is reminicent of a religious painting by one of the masters. the colours are superb with the red and white robes intermingling. the hints of gold compliment the other coloure perfectly. the insence helps create an intense atmosphere and brings life to the image. the dark background is superb, in fact the whole scene has a wonderfully rich quality to it.
regards,
brian

Bonsoir, Delphine,

Remarquable!

Hello Delphine,
You have captured the atmosphere of the moment very well. The dark BG and muted colours suit the composition. It looks like an old painting.
Beautiful!

Hello Delphine,
a very well composed and framed photo with marvellous depth and wonderful lighting, colours and contrasts. Clarity is great and very much appreciated while observing the ritual and the impressive effect of the folds of the priests' robes but also the details of the architecture in the darkness behind them. The rising smoke of the incense adds drama to the solemn postures and completes a picture which really looks like a painting. Well done and thank you!
All the best, have a great weekend,
Ourania
