Ndebele women traditionally adorned themselves with a variety of ornaments, each symbolising her status in society. After marriage, dresses became increasingly elaborate and spectacular.
Married women wear neck hoops made of grass (called isigolwani) twisted into a coil and covered in beads, particularly for ceremonial occasions.

nice portrait of a N'debele with warm colors and perfect not overdone accentuation
The light on her face and the OOF BG afford a very pleasant post
best to you wanda

I think I still have my 3D eyeglasses from the movie Up! in my face, as your subject is popping up from the screen! Every beads, every curles, every jewels are full of light and shadows offering so much dimension!
The sharpness makes your subject very much alive, unless it's her kind expression.
I like what you have done with the background, as we see enough to recognize the typical house painting and motifs, yet, it's blurred enough for your model to catch all the attention.
Excellent rapport with people and their environment.
Meticulously framed and colours like we are craving for.

It is a stunning portrait, which works all the better for being a ¾ pose; much more natural. Your choice of DOF is just right with everything sharp except the background. Well done

Absolutely precious portrait shot showing the traditional and culture of the Ndebele. I said precious because generally it is not easy to convince the folks in many Africa countries to have their picture taken, especially women. So it is very refreshing and a joy to see one this good in quality.
What I love here is the beautiful and colorful decoration of her tradition outfits. Her feature and expression though not of classic beauty, but there’s an statue of pride. The smile is tender but timid and defiantly have the elegant posture of a higher status in her culture. Excellent quality, the shallow DoF really makes her pop out of the background. Greetings and my complements, always.

It looks like a lonely planet guide book cover picture, very nice portrait using the appropriate narrow DoF
Have a nice day JY
