Photographer's Note
It rained heavy in the night when we arrived at mezouga, the next day, there were river and the sand was compacted and wet, as the day progress, the sun heat up the sand, the wind blasting away the dried sand. Leaving little clums of sand cake. It's like seeing erosion taking place infront of my eyes.
Just so you know the size of it, compare to the Shahara, I'm pretty small, like a little fly around camel's ass. Compare to this clumps of sand, I'm a giant. Each on of these cake would fit in the palm of my hands.

Hello Way
A minimalist but high class picture !
The close-up is perfectly thought to play with the curves, and the outstanding quality lets appreciate the textures of the sand. We can almost feel the sensation of the grain between fingers.
It is unusual that a desert area is reduced to a detail... We are more used to see dunes, or sand as far as the eye can see. You've chosen your own way to share your vision of Shahara, very good idea. Love it.

Karine

Hello Way,
An excellent abstract and simple composition in which the play of light and shadows is nicely captured. The high sharpness gives the top of the sand some good texture. A real nice surprise.

Very fine composition . The light provide a subtile pallete of brown tonalities . The graphism is splendid . No scale : it must be very little ...

Hello Way,
A beautiful view but so different from your usual kind. This is more like an abstract composition. It is also an interesting picture because I guess this is how the well known "sand roses" are created. I still have one, also fitting in the palm of my hand, of crystallized sand of strange shapes. I found it on the ground somewhere in Algeria, where huge "sand roses" could be bought in the souvenir shops.
Kind regards,
Gert

Ciao dear Way,
the sunthe wind and the water are great sculptors, but with this amazing close-up, almost a macro, you prove to be a talented photographer, creative and genial. The perfection of light and the incredible sharpness allow us to enjoy this masterpiece. Sincere compliments, dear friend, you're really good!
Ciao, have a nice Tuesday!

Hi Way
Your photos really make me look at subjects differently. Before I "met" you, I would have trampled all over something like this before, not realising it was photographic gold. So I thank you for that. This abstract is exquisite: the play of light and shade and the amazing textures. Fantastic warm golden tones too, just magic.
TFS and I wish you a beautiful day

An image from vast desert landscape captured in warm afternoon light almost at the end of the day highlighting the textures in those sand nicely and so contrasty yet full of warm tones. Great abstract effect and interesting patterns and wonderful shadows, but the glow is fantastic which adds additional richness to the overall color. Stunning shot and a treat for the eye. Great work, Congrats

Rain in the desert...streams of rain water..you were lucky to see this all Sand does get binded with water & though the result is shortlived, the formations can take unique shapes. You actually showed the desert in an unique way...I would have possibly walked over it or passed it by without noticing. The beauty is enhanced by the side light & the shadows which create a distinct 3 D effect. Very nice abstract work!

Hi Way
I don't have disappeared in the desert but almost. Finally I decided to make a sign of life... I am caught immediately by the solar magnetism of this minimalist abstract shot. I love it. Back to essentials ! Simple, at the core of the creation. An inexplicable beauty. And I love the name Shahara, which is also a sensuous song from a Bollywood movie ! ...:)
Congratulations

Hello Way,
It's too grainy! ;-) Of course, sand usually is! Good sharpness & superb textural details with excellent tight framing to give an intriguing abstract shot. Wonderful shadow detail & shallow dof. Tfs!
