Photographer's Note
Sometimes is not easy to approach the people in the tribe villages.
It’s necessary to spend some time to walk around, introduce yourself to the chief of the village, share a chai together and then, with a relaxed attitude walking around. I usually choose to play with the shy but curious children at the beginning, first without and then with camera. When I have my camera in hands and after a little while I can start to take real photos (at the beginning images are taken just to play with).
This image was taken while visiting the community of muslim Jatts in the village of Marawal, near Narayan Sarovar at the western edge of India towards the Pakistan border.

Amazing picture!
The eyes are crisp and sharp when the rest of the face, the collar and the dress look somewhat faded. Probably some specific accentuation on the eyes !?
Anyway, very nice portrait of a cute teenager

Hello Luca,
I like this very much.
It looked great on the thumbnails!
The direct, yet unselfconscious gaze, is very engaging. What a beautiful girl! You have captured her with a sensitive softness.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Stunning photo, Luca, although I do agree that there is some fading, which is a little unfortunate. That being said, I am very impressed by the way you captured the perfect expression on this girl's face. She is interacting with the camera, while being candid and not too forced. Nice job!

That's a very good portrait, Lucas. All the light in the shining eyes, surprises me, although. The colorful dress and prominent jewels would deserve a stronger attention. The softness of her expression is, in a way, in contradiction with this strong look...I do not really know what to think of it, although I know you made it on purpose! Anyway, your skillful portrait is pretty well composed.

Hello Luca,
Again a wonderful portrait.
This girl has an incredible looking and so beautiful eyes.
I like again the very bright usage of depth of field that you had and the perfect focus exactly on the eyes.
The way her eyes are shining catches the look immediately.
Great work!
Have a nice day.
Best regards, Christian

Hi Luca
You are among the most talented photographers on this site. Among the ones that truly explore the world and get intimate with local people and at the same time a great artist in terms of composition and technique.
This portait has it all...maybe too perfect :-)

hi Luca,
A lovely portrait whose soft and gentle colours go well with the girl portrayed. I also like it that - despite her 'exotic' clothes and decorations - this picture puts her eyes central. This is a very humane touch, which I appreciate a lot.

Hi Luca,
big compliments for this one. Your story is exactly what I like about this kind of photography... the art of meeting people, talk to them, get their confidence and respect them as human beings. Only when you know to do this, you can get images like this one.
Ciao, christian

Hello Luca,
I like how you kept the skin tones very natural. You have to get used to the slightly flat colour in her clothes, but it makes that all attention goes to the eyes. And that's what you need here. Nice.

Hello Luca,
I look around this photo, her dress, hair and face, but where do I keep ending,
yes, her eyes, beautiful.
This moment well captured by yourself in this photo.
I hope you left this girl a copy to keep for herself, but from what I read in your profile, I would think you did.?
Thanks for sharing, Oh, I don,t think her dress is faded.
Best wishes on your travels

I'm 3 1/2 years late again, but just had to comment. I love your portraits. The time you take to establish rapport has been very successful, they show that despite our differences in life styles, languages, religions, environment, and cultures, we humans are truly one family.
