Photographer's Note

Built in the centre of the City of Malaga, Spain, this Alcazaba (Arabic for Citadel) is a Moorish fortification that dates from the middle of the 11th century. It was constructed on the remains of a Roman fortress during the rule of King Badis the Zirid ruler of Granada, as a palace for the governors of the city. At its centre are landscaped walled gardens and fountains with inlaid herringbone pathways connecting the various courtyards.
