Well, I guess I am having just too much fun with these waterfalls. Taken at the Kuang Si Waterfalls in the Luang Prabang vicinity. Actually on this day, we had no sun to speak of, but the ambient light was okay. My theory now is that a sunny day, but with a good canopy of forest to block the sun is the trick.....next time.

well, until then I think you've done a wonderful job with the tripod and whatever light was available.
The place looks absolutely charming and the long exposure gives a very dreamy feel to the falling water. The colours are amazing, too. This is definitely a place I would like to visit (and maybe have some fun with water and a tripod, too).

Hello Steve very pleasing effects and nice composition. Some leaves curtains the waterfall below. That waterfall is really nice and it would be good to see it without anything preventing it. Anyway, I like the thought and beautiful effect. Congratulations.

These series of natural pools are absolutely magnificent with the smaller and bigger waterfalls and the blue and green tones of the water.
The framing with the overhanging branches and the smaller plants on the foreground increases the forest- or jungle-effect.
The masses of water jets that fall down almost all over the picture look wonderful thanks to the long exposure.
Best regards, Paul

The slow shutter speed has given a delightful look to the water with rows of beautiful casacades. The colour of the water is very eye-catching. Wonderful work.

Hi Steve - Another view of this dreamlike location, in the days before the ban on cigarette advertising it would be perfect for menthol smokes! Cool minty colours in the water, a peaceful and "otherworldly" atmosphere. Well managed throughout. Best reagards Rosemary

Great shot, magical shot with this slow speed. That looks like painting of paradise. The colors are splendid merging blue, green and white. Congratulation.

even without sun, this place is wonderful, totally magical. Its colors are somptuous ,and the whiteness of the waterfalls gives the brightness that could have missed without sun!I also love the superb effect given by the low speed on the water.Magnificent!

This is an amazing photo! I didn't realize this existed in Laos! It reminds me of Guatemala.
Bright sunny days are probably the worst for capturing water flow. A ND filter can be used, but the harsh contrast of the sunlight still exists. I'm glad you had the luck to have an overcast day and your tripod with you! The steps made this photo stand out from the rest!

A large enchanting waterfall indeed. Considering the condition of the day, it is well exposed nevertheless with excellent surrounding details. Good sense of perspective with attractive subjects in foreground. Love the fairly slow shutter capturing the water cascading down, just the right amount of movement and you have got the milky texture perfectly, creating an outstanding contrast against the turqouise water. The splashes in the light really stand out. Gorgeous picture. Congrast. TFS

This is a paradisiac set for a play by the Oceanides, goddess Nymphs who preside over the sources of earth's fresh-water, ranging from rainclouds to subterranean springs and fountains!
And may you enjoy thier bewitching charms!

wow, this is so pretty!
I like the cascade of the tiny waterfalls.
But it all seems to be well thought through. I like very much the attractive silhouettes in the foreground. And the colors is just fantastic,
