The best way to spend time in the Lower Antelope Canyon is to buy a photography tour ticket, I think it was the same price or just a little bit more, so you can take your time.
We entered the Lower Antelope Canyon with a tour group of 15 people or so, we were the last in line and we waited for all of them to look around and took their pictures and left. Here in the low Antelope Canyon, it is much larger area than in the Upper Antelope, and you don’t have to stay with your group. You can take your time and explore. After the group left, we had the area to ourselves before the next tour group come in. We took our time to really enjoy the canyon and looking at how the light falls into the canyon creating all kind of interesting shape and colors. It was all peaceful and quiet, and you can actually hear a Navajo Indian played his Indian flute somewhere on top of the canyon. As I was composing this shot, through the view finder, I saw giant narrow canyon, and a waterfall of sand flowing into a river gorge.
Antelope Canyon is a photogrpher's wonderland. Every corner you turn there is something different and opportunities to composed stunning images with different POVs. You do need a tripod 100 percent of the time to utilize the slow shutter speed so you can get a nice sharp and intense color images.

not an easy game to be original when shooting an image in this place
However you've been successful with this one, where are preserved the delicate and gradient hues of the stone
The immobility of the stones just broken by a slight thread of flowing sand
Well done, bravo
Best to you

This is superb! The hues are a pure bliss, the light is gorgeous, and with the sand flowing on the rock, the mineral world appears sweeter than hard. I admire your delicate management of light, here!
There are still enchantments coming from so simple things; it is reassuring, I find. With your note that evokes the flute playing at distance, it seems dreamlike...

I am glad you came back to the slot canyon.
I like your work very much. I noticed I like especially those shots which are close to the entrance and also which show some the ground because they sort of provide some sense of direction and a more natural light.
And I see you have some moving sand as well.
Very nice capture,
never enough shots from this place

I never get tired of pictures from Antelope canyon. Especially when they're as goo as this one. The hues, the falling sand, the shapes. Exposure must really be tricky here but you managed this beautifully.
stevesaba (8023) 2010-06-30 4:30
Lovely shot of this area! It looks like a must-see for sure for photographers! Perfect exposure, and the colors are full and accurate! The hint of light in the corner is great! Fine work, cheers,

These places can be wonderful for photos - the tonalities of the stone, the textures, the light, the shapes, everything seems amazing here and you have a good photo to show that.

I loved this canyon. The orange tones are so pretty and the sandfall certainly adds atmosphere.
I didn't know there was a special photography tour at the Lower, I thought it was only at the Upper. In any case we were only about 8 and our guide waited for the last participant (my husband as he didn't have to keep up with the kids going through the narrow passageways like I did) with 2 groups getting out quicker than us. So there really was plenty of time to explore with not much people.

beautiful and eye catching lines and structures, the fall of sand is preserved in longer exp., a fine one!
Have a nice day, Ivana

Hey there -
Youre rendition of the classic pink sand/rock caves is very good - and i can tell youve used a tripod :)
riclopes (35577) 2010-07-07 3:04
Olá Way, I've already seen a lot of pictures from this this magical place and it still fascinates me. As you say, it's a photogrpher's wonderland and I would be exciting taking too many not that good photos, since I don't even have a tripod. But a photography tour seems very interesting, even for me ;-) This is a gorgeous photo and the bonus of the sand waterfall makes a diference here, even if it doesn't stand so much as we would like.
delpeoples (50651) 2010-07-08 2:49
Hi Way, how are you? This Antelope Canyon series is just wonderful, I never get sick of looking at the place. The textures and tones are amazing and I just love those grains of sand slipping down the wall, slow but unstoppable. Thanks also for your helpful Note. TFS and I wish you a good week, Lisa

this is a photographic masterpiece that shows us a masterpiece of the nature, the greatest artist of the universe. Perhaps you are not the greatest photographer of the universe, but surely you are one of the most excellent photographers of TE, and this amazing image shows it. Compliments, dear friend, for these beautiful photos!
Ciao, have a nice day!
