Photographer's Note

View from the beach of Ayia Marina, Leros, towards the north-west. The light is on Alinda, a village by the sea. Most of its houses are inhabited mainly in the summer. Old or new, they are very nice, have lovely gardens and a special aura. Alinda has been a much cherised summer resort since the 1900's. This is where the first hotel on the island was built about a century ago.
Above Alinda is the highest peak of Leros, Kleidi, 321m. The height is not impressive but the view of Leros, of the Aegean and the nearby islands from there is marvellous.

The beautiful effect of this magnificent composition, with the play of light and shadow on the background population and the mountains, the sky is spectacular and complement the image beautifully.
All in all a beautiful work of this point on the coast.

questi sono i cieli che mi piacciono tanto, e che da soli potrebbero già star bene.
La foto è chiaramente impostata su di esso, anche perché il paesaggio sottostante è rimasto leggermente in ombra, ma tant'è, lo scatto è riuscitissimo, bello, armonioso e piacevole a vedersi. I miei più sinceri complimenti amica cara.

Hello Ourania,

This is another very beautiful day in lovely Leros. The low altitude clouds look magical and as a common sense expected to exert a strange pressure on the town. But strangely that does not ruin the charm and peaceful atmoshphere, besides the light accross the shore looks lovely and inviting. Who would not want to be on the summit of Kleidi and watch this sensational scenery. This is surely a beautiful composition that stirs up positive feelings. Thanks for sharing my friend. Είχα επισκεφθεί παλαιότερα την Λέρο και ομολογώ αυτή η φωτογραφία με βοήθησε λίγο να την ξανα-θυμηθώ.Όμορφα χρώματα,χωρίς υπερβολές.Επίσης φανταστική απεικόνιση του ουρανού με πολύ πετυχημένα και "πραγματικά" χρώματα.Πολύ καλή δουλειά.TFS

I really enjoy this view, simply because of the clouds!
clouds can make or break a photo, without them so much detail and attractiveness is lost.
here, the clouds seem to power over everything, dominating the photo.

The moment not to be missed as the sky is displaying the best show of the day, a wonderful creation of nature, the stunning fluffy low cotton clouds extremely steal the attention as strong focal on interest. This, coupled by the striking contrast and rich colors are indeed very significant and influential in making this awesome image. Love the depth and dof too, as we gets to move smoothly around the frame, the soft shadows and lights on the slopes further beautify the overall scene. Well done, Congrats.
