Photographer's Note

I’ve been going to Las Vegas for almost 25 years, and even lived there for a short time…but hadn’t been down on The Strip in ages. Since I had my camera in tow for this trip, I thought I’d make it worth while and spend a couple of hours around the cities main attraction. Of the hundreds and hundreds of times I’ve passed through casino’s, I never thought to actually stop and take a picture until now…hoping I might be able to give you an idea of what it’s like on the inside.

I would liked to have been closer to the gaming tables, but the players and pit bosses are probably none too fond of that idea, so I kept my distance and took a quick snapshot before any security detail thought I was up to no good…with the “eyes in the sky,” it’s virtually impossible not to be noticed. Needing to take this quickly and as inconspicuously as possible, I didn’t have the time to get the best exposure…the varied and low light conditions in these places are rough!

Believe it or not, this was just before 7h00, so either these players were still working from the night before, or getting an early start on the new day. Las Vegas is as much “The city that never sleeps” as NYC…in fact, there’s even a ‘New York, New York’ themed hotel not far from the one pictured here(Aria).

Just another daily life scene in this wild city, and perhaps not the most interesting, but after a quick search through the TE pages, I didn’t come across any other pictures from the inside of a casino…or maybe I just didn’t look long enough!? Either way, here’s your sneak peek at the gaming floor.

Thanks for stopping by.
