Thursday, 9th June was Lanimer Day in Lanark and in the morning people wait in the High Street in eager anticipation of seeing the pipe bands, the processions and the crowning of the Lanimer Queen.
You can read more about the Lanimer tradition in Lanark here but I was more intrigued by this little girl who was trying to make sure that she was going to have a good view of the event!

Hi John, very well captured.. a view from a little ones level.. One tends to forget they have a different POV. I wonder what sort of photo she would have taken from that level.. could lead to some new angles. Have a great weekend. Rich

A very good picture of the little girl trying to see the parade. Perhaps I would have cropped the picture differently, the small section of red dots above her could have been taken away (or cloned out). Maybe I should have taken away the black leg to the left too. But the capture of the little girl is really good!
