October light on the 14th century medieval Scotney Castle near Lamberhurst in the county of Kent, England. Age has not diminished the building's beauty, or its surroundings, although not every ivy clad wall or chimney is perhaps as vertical as it was when the castle was built in or around 1378-80.

Good morning neighbour!
A very sharp and detailed shot of this intriguing little turret! Well composed and great colour saturation.
All that ivy reminds me of the weeding I have neglected in my garden this summer!

it is looking like a painting Brian... The ivy clad wall of this castle is really beautiful and you showed nicely this part of the castle with nice greeneries and fine blue sky at top. Razor sharp photograph with nice and attractive colours. Great shot. Tfs.

I do like the hint of Autumn with the lovely light striking the foliage on the warmly coloured Castle walls, such a pleasing colour palette with perfect clarity,a really lovely photograph.
All the best Les.

I have a similar shot to this myself but yours benefits from a much better light. The wall coming in from the bottom right directs the viewer toward the tower and adjacent window. Beautiful warm light and colours. Superb detail.

Hello Brian - It looks as if two different styles of architecture are presented here. The brick work portion looks Elizabethan and the stonework tower earlier. Certainly contrasting styles and materials but over the years they have mellowed together! Quite a fancy extension to build ;) A lovely corner of English heritage with the ivy-clad walls and rambling plantings looking lovely and natural. An attractive little corner of England. Warm regards Rosemary

Good morning Brian,
Somehow I missed this beauty over the course of the last couple of days!? The all natural textures, tones and colors are exquisite...I love how this plays right along with the blue sky. The ivy on the turret almost looks like a hand reaching out, trying to reclaim this as its own. :)
This is so unlike anything I have near me, I'm always so intrigued by the architecture...how did these marvels get built before there were the tools and know-how of today's architects and designers?? And better yet, they seem to stand the test of time at a better rate! Charming and detailed with warm lighting and an inviting attraction. Enjoy the day ahead. Take care.

How nice is this tower with ivy on it. Splendid colours and fantastic composition. My house is also covered with ivy but it is not a castle, unfortunately :(.
have a beautiful weekend
