Walking in the streets of Old Havana is definitely a unique experience, but I wondered if anyone has ever died or was injured by falling rocks or bricks. So many houses are in ruins, and here very often the wind and tornados hit the city ... a question that I have left. The photo was taken from the roof of the home of Victor Hugo, in the heart of Havana.
Postrpocessed in HDR and black and white.

Interesantan pogled, dobar tekst ...
Dobar rad i kompozicija, lepo pokazana ulica i stara fasada, dobar kontrast i ostrina, lepo uhvacen trenutak sa prolaznikom.
Imajte lep i uspesan dan, sve najbolje.
An interesting view, good text ...
Good work and compositions, beautifully demonstrated streets and old buildings, good contrast and sharpness, nicely captured the moment with the passer.
Have a nice and successful day, all the best.
jmdias (69340) 2017-04-05 1:54
very nice view, the black and white added something of essential in the compo. the man entering in the scenery is the special point while we can see the beauty of the former rich houses in ruins.

snunney (107523) 2017-04-05 2:17
Superb realisation, the black and white pp treatment suits the subject perfectly enhancing the textural detail and bringing a touch of nostalgia to the composition. I also like the downwards point of view and the presence of the pedestrian just entering the frame.
holmertz (59812) 2017-04-05 2:45
This is Havana seen from an unusual perspective, and you also mention an unusual idea. In Sweden people have been killed, or seriously injured, by falling icicles in winter, but falling rocks or bricks are less known. Here that loks like it could be a real problem. This is in any case an original composition, and the fine B&W treatment emphasizes the once beautiful architectural details. The person in the street adds life and a sense of dimensions - and a sense of vulnerability.

wow! what a wonderful scenery from an unusual pov. Very good HDR transformation and excellent choice for b+w mode. Very well done.TFS.

It seem a black and white picture but with nice grey colour.
Indeed this see a little bit dangerous for make a stroll in the street..
This is a fantastic image.
Sharpness and clarity are superb.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice day,

This doesn't look too safe indeed. It's a nice vertigo kind of photo and the man just coming into the frame is well included. The B&W works well too.
Sergiom (89387) 2017-04-05 7:02
abmdsudi (58336) 2017-04-05 7:20
Deep and thought evoking imagery....
Superbly observed, well composed with dose of vertigo and captured. Your choice and style of processing add to the charm and feeling of the image. The small fig clinched the capture nicely, Congrats.
sacimar (29067) 2017-04-05 7:50
This is a beautiful photo, I like the visual result you got with the image processing technique, the composition with the man walking by the dangerous street is excellent, well done,

Ciao Luciano ,
rychem (43462) 2017-04-05 8:15
The house on the left has seen better times, very nice
comparative photo, what a pity that so beautiful houses become ruin
macjake (73063) 2017-04-05 11:37
i think i remember you saying you're not a fan of black and white, you said that right? and now you're posting one :)
its a fine composition, its an angle and pov that we dont see very often, and that what makes it stand out.
love the vines and plant life taking over, it has that abandoned look and feel to it. and the addition of the man walking by is great. wonderful photo
COSTANTINO (70282) 2017-04-05 12:00
Bella prospettiva architettonica
complimenti e cari saluti
ChrisJ (119085) 2017-04-05 16:57
At least it never snows here. You could imagine the huge slabs of ice crashing into the street like it does in Russia, Romania & Eastern Turkey. Good sharpness, tonal range & downward pov. Tfs!
mcmtanyel (29806) 2017-04-05 21:30
I love this bird's eye POV of the narrow street with the man walking into the frame. I can see the danger you mean. What a shame, one of the richest nations in the western hemisphere being reduced to a ghost of its past!
willperrett (11918) 2017-04-05 23:54
An unusual viewpoint and a monochrome treatment as well! Right up my street therefore. Love the strong perspective distortion and the full range of tones.
dasa1206 (43) 2017-04-06 5:29
very good and original compostion.
heimann2 (1762) 2017-04-06 7:40
ikeharel (79317) 2017-04-06 9:08
Grazie per le critique, Luciano.
This pic. justifies a B&W format, it a bit softened the decay and neglected abandoned house.
But, it clearly shows that once it was a magnificent building, impressive archi.-design on the façade.
Lone person stride, gave scale and life to the scene.
Cricri (126846) 2017-04-06 10:59
mehrdad-t (4074) 2017-04-07 7:41
Excellent capture. Very good light management with fine Black Theme and clarity.
Royaldevon (43985) 2017-04-07 8:25
Ciao caro Luciano,
Your viewpoint certainly highlights your concerns, with some dwellings being uninhabitable, verging on the derelict, whilst unconcerned pedestrians walk beneath!
I would be concerned if I lived next to such a dilapidated dwelling!
It's a very well composed view and, to me, the b&w treatment helps to concentrate attention.
My warm regards,
Periko (6398) 2017-04-07 10:39
Well chosen the b&w in this scene, in which the person below adds motion. Interesting and different perspective.
worldcitizen (9476) 2017-04-07 11:46
What a great POV. The B/W, and the broken balcony with weeds, create an eerie feeling. We can really imagine that this building might fall down on the person passing by. Great placement of the person on the far right of the frame. It's an eye-catching composition.
mayjayne (7016) 2017-04-08 3:26
I must have missed this one earlier. I love all the little details that you have managed to capture here - the perspective is great and the choice of B&W is so ideal.
adramad (50038) 2017-04-08 8:46
Sensational perspective from above, the facade of this house, which in its day should be a home of wealthy families and now is a risk to the population, a shame as this city has lost patrimony and many other things .....
A fantastic photo, with natural B&W, very good lighting and excellent sharpness.
Well done. I love.
Enjoy the weekend.
Very best regards.
batalay (40523) 2017-04-08 8:57
In B&W this photograph of the crumbling building is especially effective. The pedestrian just entering the view innocently, nonchalantly, creates a critical element of the composition. He is unaware of the dangers that lurk!
emka (107925) 2017-04-08 11:02
Ciao Luciano, Original point of view and interesting note. I wonder where were you standing making this picture. As to the dangers on the street, I think it is nothing compared to the traffic in Asian countries. They move in chaotic way, with no rules, overloaded, sitting on the steps or roofs, how they survive all this. Or when you see them working on scaffolding without any safety measures. I am always astonished. Superb postprocession in black and white.
Kind regrads MAlgo
ocskaymarci (2822) 2017-04-09 6:28
That's a fantastic composition with a great angle! I really like the B&W and the HDR effect here as well as you included that pedestrian in the frame. Very well done!
fritzi007 (12518) 2017-04-09 11:58
the construction of the building in Habana is terrible, you have to look into the backyards, very good photo!
Hansaphotos (8761) 2017-04-10 13:19
What a great photo from the heart of Havana. It works perfect in this b&w version, and the HDR treatment really enhances the picture and is not overdone. You raise a very relevant question - interesting. The person walking on the street is very well included. Wonderful details along the facades. Excellent:) TFS.
kordinator (15433) 2017-04-11 9:25
Truly impressive view down.
I have a huge fear of heights, so I like these much times had the ability to do such one picture, so her even more admiration.
Amazing graphicall efects.
An high quality image.
alvaraalto (20704) 2017-04-18 4:48
Fascinating looking down scene only for TE-friends without acrophobia.
Your camera was so impressed that it missed the colours of the street and only got the black and white tones :- ))
Fascinating to look at all these different openings in the façade.
Have a nice day
PaulVDV (32799) 2017-04-28 15:29
I also think you found yourself in a dangerous position to take this picture.
So the man in the street was in a double dangerous situation. There was the risk of falling stones and the risk of falling photographers ...
Anyway, a unique presentation of a street in Old Havana.
Best regards, Paul
