Photographer's Note
This is the clay idol of Goddess Durga Face made by a Potter...I took this snap at Kumortuli,Kolkata...Durga Puja is the famous festival of Bengali, which is held in the month of October.I am also a Bengali Guy :)...only 1 month left till now of Durga Puja...
Kumortuli (also spelt Kumartuli, or the archaic spelling Coomartolly) (Bengali: কুমোরটুলি) is a traditionally potters’ quarter in northern Kolkata (previously known as Calcutta), the capital of the east Indian state of West Bengal. By virtue of their artistic productions these potters have moved from obscurity to prominence. This Kolkata neighbourhood, not only supplies clay idols of Hindu gods and goddesses to barowari pujas in Kolkata and its neighbourhoods, but a number of idols are exported.

Prasun
Difficile per un occidentale fotografare e raccontare.
Bene chiare idoli e l'esportazione "turistica" non l'apprezzo.
Il turista forse un po guasta il sentimento religioso .
Tu racconti come fotografi con intensa calma spirituale .

Hi Prasun
it is indeed a very interesting photo. the pov from low and the light that detaches the elephant to right from the background are two meaningful elements. so the man at work appears encircled by his materials and captured in a moment of great dedication to it. cheers!

Hi Prasun
I love the totally candid nature of most of the people shots, it makes me feel like I've had a chance to look at real life in there. A great shot of a fine artist at work and his very intense concentration caught unaware, is the strongest element for me that makes this picture. The lighting is optimal, lovely eye level pov to let us fully focus on the subject, this is great! Indeed, a very interesting piece of work and great street candid image well captured. Excellent well written infor to guide us along.
Wel done, Congrats
Best regards

Hello Prasun
The artist seems to be one of the few elements in colour amidst the mono-toned idols. You captured him in a good poise...I was just thinking if it had been better to get closer to him, eliminating the right side...my personal opinion
Best,
Angshu

Hello Prasun,
A very nice shot with beautiful colors.
This view is very interesting because i like particularly this kind of athmosphere that gives us a a good approach of the real life.
I have gone twice in India, and i fell in love for this country.
I like to have a walk in the little street in india to discover all this trade like your potter.
Nice capture.
