Five years of TE, a photo from Tamil Nadu, South

Photographer's Note

Five years of TE. Today, five years back, I joined TrekEarth and for past 2 hours I was searching through my recent photographs to find something worthwhile to post to commemorate this occasion. Found nothing special and hence the above shot taken at Kodaikanal Lake in the month of early February. Not really a good month as the weather was dull, misty and very poor visibility all around.

Kodaikanal is a small hill station in the state of Tamil Nadu, India and was established in 1845 as a refuge from the high temperatures and tropical diseases of the plains. Much of the local economy is based on the hospitality industry serving tourism.

Let me also take this opportunity to say a big Thank You to all fellow TE members who have contributed in making TE a place to share so many varied emotions of life from such diverse corners of planet Earth. The pleasure of seeing a magical moment captured somewhere, joy of learning something new, looking at the world with so many different eyes and angles (read POV) and aspiring to look beyond the obvious ……..well TE has certainly been a significant part of my life now in all better way. I might not click the most fascinating pictures but I am certainly a member of a fascinating community and I love just being part of it.

Hi Anupam, Looks to be a beautiful place, and has been composed very nicely, the building in the background, reflection on water and the tourists make the scene so lively.

First of all, congratulations for the 5 years on TE! I did not really know your gallery and I just had a look at it!
Yes, Kodi is a place I would like to go(but when there are less people :)! I know it's a charming hill station, and it's quite popular. The forest look thick and beautiful!

Rightly, you wanted to celebrate this milestone with a beautiful picture of your fantastic India, a photo captured with excellent photo quality, especially sharpness and light management.
