Kaza is situated on the left bank of River Spiti, it is presently the headquarters of Spiti sub-division, perched at an elevation of 3,740 meters (12,300 ft) above mean sea level, is the largest township and commercial center of the valley and as is typical of the valley - its largely Tibetan. The town is overlooked by steep ridges that are permanently covered with snow on their top.
The Sakya Tenggyu Monastery of Kaza is new - inagurated by the Dalai Lama in July 2009 – compare it with the ancient monasteries of Dhankhar & Kye that are on either side of this small town. (Kye is about 11Km upstream, while Dhankhar is around 15 Km the other way). The newer building which greets visitors today stands where the former monastery, known as Tenggyud Lhundrup Choekhor Ling, existed for 35 years.
The Monastery is quite close to the Spiti River & one evening I captured this scene as I walked from the monastery to the river bank, along the avenue lined with sun drenched yellow deodars (a species of cedar native to the western Himalayas) which created an amazing luminescence against the backdrop of the arid brown treeless Spiti mountains.

The long lines of trees along the road give us a strong perspective towards the mountain which rises quite dramatically in front of us. The tender yellowish green tone of the leaves also contrast very nicely to the darkness of the mountainside.

great presentation along the deodar trees,i think this was not shooted from the main road, but the left side of the road where the main town is.nice croppingThe trees are highlighted rather than the snow clad peak at BG.contrast betwn blue sky and the trees worked well here.A nice place indeed, really a perfect spot for mountain lovers and landscape shooters. La prise de cette rangée d'arbres donne de la profondeur à l'image. Une bonne luminosité, tout laisse supposer que l'air est très pur là-bas.
Merci pour le partage et bonne journée.

The trees are framing well the mountain. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the mountain. The late afternoon light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

nice the view of this well captured image with the passageway of the trees to lead-in the eye on the snowy Mt,that is found the Sakya Tenggyu Monastery.I like the Spring light as falling on the scenery with the vivid colours to make it so charmy and picturesque.

Namaste, my friend Angshuman,
It is a good framing, I like the perspective of the trees that leads our look towards the building and the mountains in background, in a very dynamic composition, in which nothing distracts our attention.
The light is very pleasant at sight, and creates a nice effect of chiaroscuro in the image, as well as a high chromatic quality.
An excellent work.

I love the 2 converging rows of yellow leafed trees that contrast so well gainst the blue sky & add diminishing linear perspective. Good sharpness & cp use. Tfs!

A superb image, brilliant view at the point of this height and what a great feeling of space and immense depth. The symmetry really works for me, here the repeat verticals and sharp clean edges of golden trees combine to lead the eye deeper and deeper into the picture at the botom end to the tiny breaks that livens it up a bit, giving a sense of proportion. A good composition, beautifully delicate coloring and the effect of the snow peak mountain makes it a real beauty. Marvellous capture, it is certainly worth being up there and I can share your feel. Congrats
pablominto (53746) 2011-12-22 23:49
It is an interesting composition, where the symmetrical appearance draws attention!
The spring foliage makes a fine framing for the snowy summit, and the blue sky with the fluffy white clouds...
Fine light that renders attractive colours!

Namaskar dear Angshu
Such a magfnificent perspective created by the coloured trees in a row, leading the eye towards the star of the photo, those majestic mountains. Beautiful rich colours, great compo and impresive depth of field. I'm unsure if you celebrate Christmas, if you do, have a very Merry Christmas and if you do not, have a wonderful December :)

Bonjour, cher ami Angshu,
Cette voie bordée d'arbres aux feuilles frémissantes mène joliment notre regard sur ces montagnes aux sommets enneigés. Le ciel bleu s'octroie de petits nuages d'une grande délicatesse.
Excellentes fêtes de fin d'année.

Hello dear Angshuman-san!
How majestic this view of the mountain is! The frontal approach to this photograph in my humble opinion is most successful. The mountain glows in charming blue. The contrasts with the golden trees along the avenue are very delightful. I like how the trees along the street seem to open up for you to reveal their beauty. You did not leave the view without it being captured; I would like to say, on your film. (It’s somehow more romantic to say it like this.) The view is very inviting, cleanness of the air, warmth of the sun rays, all the right ingredients are present in the image to make this photo a pure pleasure for us to see. Only my poor English limits me to explain and express myself well enough to fully describe the beauty of it.
With my warmest and utmost pleasure,
I wish you a very pleasant beginning of the year 2012, Angshuman-san
macjake (62252) 2012-01-03 10:36
smart composition here, it really works well from a visual standpoint as the eye is naturally drawn straight down the middle of the frame.
these types of photos are hard to find in the real world, and you took full advantage of it.
excellent lighting and depth.
i honestly would not change anything
