The Himba are an ethnic group of about 20,000 to 50,000 people, living in northern Namibia, in the Kunene region. They are herdsmen, breeding mainly cattle and goats while leading a semi-nomadic life. They migrate with their herds to the different waterholes from season to season. They are closely related to the Herero tribe and speak the same language.
Himba women are famous for covering themselves with a mixture of butter fat, ochre and herbs to protect themselves from the sun and from insects. The mixture gives their skins a reddish tinge.
They are consider the most beautiful people in Africa.

Your photo takes me to another place - and that's what TE is all about!
What's not to love about this portrait?! The lighting is beautiful, along with the subject! She looks very relaxed, and I love her post. The colours are very warm and inviting. The DOF is just right, with the focus really on her and her upper torso.
Nothing but love for this picture, thanks so much for sharing!
