Photographer's Note
children living in poverty taken just at the front of Jaisalmer Fort, the little girl is seen playing and looking after her baby brother in this dusty dirty area while the mother try's to sell the usual tourist items to the passing tourist hoping to make a sell so she can feed her children, the mother is a poor vendor and there are many poor vendors selling the same items all situated at the front of this fort, they be earning less than $1.00 a day below the poverty line and that's if they can sell anything at all they are lucky to even have 1 meal.
It doesn't look like this child goes to school i seen this poor child in this area all day when our tour came out of the fort she was still seen playing in this area and the poor mother still trying to sell her items as well as the rest of the poor vendors.
I would say that they be living in a makeshift shanty home on the streets. Very sad.
The child who is holding the baby is wearing traditional clothing.
