Silent morning..., a photo from Maluku Utara, Maluku

Photographer's Note

This was taken from a small Bugis fishing village in Jailolo early in the morning, on the western coast of Halmahera volcanic island, one of more than 300 islands
that make up the Province of North Maluku. Untouched by outsiders, sparcely populated, mountainous and rarely visited, it offers great natural beauty and haven for photography.

Jutting out of water are those 'pyramids', the volcanic islands of Maitara, Ternate and Tidore respectively seen from the right.

Again you have captured breathtaking evening colours. In this picture the floating timber logs create an unusual foreground, whereas the pyramid shaped islands and he spectacular clouds form a magnificent background.

What a tranquil place - you describe and illustrate it well. The logs here are an important part of the image. Although I prefer the golden bird of the last upload, this is certainly worth sharing. Well done

You're capturing well this landscape by a good composition and deep tone, so it's interesting to see the sea and sky dyed to sunset. It's impressive in some island and clouds in behind as well as some color layers of sea. The whole is harmonized well by beautiful touch.

This indeed is a lovely morning and the early sun rays are beautifully reflected on the dramatic clouds and the calm water surface, all made possible for me to enjoy through your lens. The clouds and the mountains are the jewels in this composition. You are right to say that this place is unspoilt and untouched as the presence of the wreck suggest. I just felt the urge to do a WS to try another possibility and hope you will like it. Lovely shot!!

you caught a superb glow on the sea and clouds and a special blue on the water.
The islands are a fine BG and the FG has also its interest points.
A serene view of a remote place (checked on google earth... the area looks extremely attractive!)

in two ways in to the depth (it creates
a duoble depth in this picture).
