Saint Sebastian Lake, a photo from Cagliari, Sardegna

Photographer's Note

In the wonderful land of Isili, the artificial dam of Is Borrocus collects water from the River Mannu, forming Lake San Sebastian. The water only adds to the beauty of the quaint little island where stands the church of San Sebastian. The church of SanSebastiano stood on a limestone promontory, which has become an island because of the damming of the river with the dam "Is Borroccus"

The country church of St. Sebastian was built in Romanesque style in the seventeenth century, although obvious signs of subsequent interventions.
The facade square with a wooden portal frame inserted in a pointed arch, surmounted by a belfry with lancet window, suggests a second remake of the late Gothic aragonese fees.
After a period of neglect due to mysterious legends has recently been renovated respecting the original aspect.

A fantastic view of the church on the large rocks in the middle of the lake. The hedge in the foreground frames and balances the composition very nicely. This is altogether a well composed photo with good colours and fine clarity.

J,aime beaucoup le point de vue sur cette petite ile . L'endroit est enchanteur et le bâtiment semble posé sur l'ile comme une chandelle sur un gâteau. Une image d'une belle profondeur.

Ciao Mario,
Looking at the picture, I thought at first that this was a very strange place to build a church. But then I read in your note that the church was built there before the construction of the dam.
I wonder if the limestone isn't eroding over the years and if this isn't a threat for the church.
Personally I have a preference for the main picture compared to the one in the workshop. This because of the closer view, the better representation of the island and the colours.

E 'difficile decidere se io debba celebrare la creazione dell' isola. L'isola sembra molto bella ma per la chiesa, che ha quasi sempre in piedi per secoli, è ora dato un contesto completamente nuovo. La tua foto mostra molto bene la situazione attuale. Mi piace il modo in cui hanno documentato la chiesa con ampio fogliame verde come un primo piano. La chiesa domina la via di mezzo. E io veramente apprezzare l'inserimento dei dintorni. La resa del colore è molto naturale e l'illuminazione è squisita. La tua foto è un successo assoluto. L'immagine fotografata è molto tranquillo, mi piace l'immagine molto. TFS

The island looks very beautiful but for the church, which has almost always stood there for centuries, is now given an entirely new context. Your photo shows very well the current situation. una bonita escena en esta toma. Me gusta esta pequeña iglesia románica en lo alto del promontorio, que debido al embalse del río se ha convertido en una isla.
Eso da un efecto muy peculiar a su ubicación, que en tu buen encuadre has captado con mucha eficacia gráfica.
El paisaje es muy bello, y la buena luz y la calidad de los colores crean una composición muy atractiva.
