#888 Life's Like A River, a photo from Bokeo, North

Photographer's Note

This is my 888th post on the TE. (wow!) This is one of the first my photos in Laos.

I suddenly remind the old old Scorpions song (1975). And I think these words are very actual evrytime and everywhere.

As years are passing by

Warm regards dear Serghei, and congratulations on number 888. Complementing the excellent B&W photo is thoughtful note. I did not know about the Scorpion Song, but the lyrics are compelling.

An interesting crop (I assume it's been cropped, anyway), and as usual I am drawn to the B/W treatment you've chosen. I reckon B/W is still a really appropriate format for documentary work, as it removes the "tourist-brochure" look that's all too common with colour images. The sense of depth that the vertical format offers works very well, and the composition is excellent. Good work.

Hi Serghei,

A Beautiful song to go with a beautiful photo. 888 is a very lucky # and I'm happy it is a picture of Laos, my homeland. and it really depicted the way of life flower gently through time, no rush, just flaoting and drifting down with a little push to the right direction.
