This was taken outside the bottom of the Victoria Peak tram station (funicular railway). The glass fronted buildings gave some lovely distorted reflections.
There are three different types of taxi in Hong Kong, red, green and blue that serve different areas of different sizes. The red taxis are the most expensive and serve the widest area.

Hello Ann - I love the fluid lines of these reflections, the road markings are particularly attractive as they snake through the frame. My husband spent 6 years of his childhood in Hong Kong but I have never been there save for the airport! I can imagine that it has changed hugely since he was a boy. He lived very close to the tram way in a place called MacDonald Road and has some photographs taken from the peak. A super shot! Have a lovely weekend. Rosemary

This nearly, very nearly, could ONLY be yours !
Not only great vision but excellent execution. And a very tight composition. Classic Ann !
Is this a glass wall ? Or a mirrored underside of a roof ? Despite its immediate appeal, I can't quite make out the 'bigger picture' What are the holes in the paneling ?
Clever idea for the taxis, colour coded no less.
You are obviously having a great time on your travels...

nicely seen and conceived shot this. Has a strange fascination about it and is very arty. Glorious shapes and distorted elements that work superbly. Excellent!
Enjoy your weekend - Brian.

Just as you commented that my last picture of an old car was typically one of mine, this picture could not have been anyone else's but yours!
At first I thought that this might have been taken through a louvred glass window but, after reading your description, I see that it was, in fact, taken of a reflective glass surgace. Again, it has that wonderful "graphic" quality which you love so much and which you portray so well: the colours are wonderfully rich and vibrant, the exposure perfect and the wonderful "wiggly" lines of the road markings as well as the bright red taxis are just fabulous.
P.S. Did you ever find out exactly what year and model of Austin that your Dad had all those years ago? I wonder if I might have a picture of one!

This was well seen and nicely done. The yellow lines match the red cars very well. It's all very pleasantly distorted.

Tu es très chanceuse. Un petit voyage à Hong Kong pour faire une belle réserve d'images. La ville est toujours en mouvement comme le montre si bien cette composition originale.

very interesting information!
never knew that the different colored taxis actually meant different levels of pay.
looking at the photo, it hurts my eyes a bit! no joke.
but thats the best evaluation as it proves its graphism and visual effect.

A very good reflection with the two taxis! The lines in diagonal make the composition much better! Very well seen and framed!

A very good use of these mirrors to create this "car crash" scene. Fine colours and an excellently composed picture. Well observed!

I like the effect created by the distorted reflection. Not just the cabs, but also the double yellow lines too. Well done for seeing the opportunity and capturing it perfectly.

I'm a fan of reflections and this one works for me. i lke the you you place the lines in diagonal on the frame. The cabs color helps the subject to pop. Well seem and captured.

Without a doubt, the distortions caused by the glass and diagonal lines highlight all the 'image very well designed and built. Very nice also the distorted shapes of cars in transit. Congratulations and thanks for the good job.
The best greetings, have a nice weekend ... Marino
