Honfleur is a commune in the Calvados department in northwestern France. It is located on the southern bank of the estuary of the Seine across from le Havre and very close to the exit of the Pont de Normandie. Its inhabitants are called Honfleurais.
It is especially known for its old, beautiful picturesque port, characterized by its houses with slate-covered frontages, painted many times by artists, including in particular Gustave Courbet, Eugène Boudin, Claude Monet and Johan Jongkind, forming the école de Honfleur (Honfleur school) which contributed to the appearance of the Impressionist movement. Honfleur is really marvelous place. When we came there, it was raining so the whole series of my photos was made in rain. But when we were leaving we had some sun. But I had no time to go round the town again.

excellent view of the harbour, with the nice boats in the water and the hotels/houses by the side. The reflections are looking good. The color and the sharpness are great.

An almost complete view of that famous harbour in a good composition, with excellent sharpness, beautiful colours and good reflections in the water.

A wonderful place to visit whatever and the time of year. This is a classic view of the Vieux Port, captured here under a lovely light and with some delightful reflections. Superb colours and detail and excellent depth. Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend.

Hello Malgorzata ,
Honfleur is a charming port indeed , with so beautiful architecture . I suppose that you've used her a kind of HDR . The effect is excellent , it looks like a painting .
The sky is superb , too .

I have seen many posts from Honfleur and have never been disappointed by the scenery.
Your viewpoint has worked very well, using the dual line of boats to act as a meeting point, drawing the eyes around the frame before settling on the peripheral buildings.
There are excellent details to rest on and enjoy, including the lovely water reflections.
This is a place I have vowed to visit ... maybe, this year!
My warm regards,

What a glorious colorful shot depicting the beauty and peacefulness of this place with the nice colors catching the attention together with the contrasting clouds adding the overall interest to the image. I really like the POV and the composition as well as the colours, nice light reflections and pin-sharp details. Indeed a very poignant image so well planned and shot delightfully.
Great photo work my friend.
Wish you a very nice Sunday.

Pozdrawiam i zycze milej niedzieli

Is this an HDR image? It has that look about it. This is a scene of serenity and peace from this famous town: it's interesting to compare it with an image of the same place that I took almost 40 years ago. For the record, here it is.
timecapturer (49288) 2014-01-19 3:58
one of the most photographed little harbours in France. Your shot captures the attractive setting of this iconic haven so beautifully. Irresistible imagery!
Have an enjoyable Sunday - B.

There is so much to see in this image, my eye is torn on where to look first! All the boats, so many colors in the buildings, the fine reflection, the active sky, this is real treat of an image to look at. A beautiful presentation of the town, and the green in the right hand side looks wonderful too!
Thanks as always

Of all the times I've been lucky enough to visit France, and as much as I love it, I've yet to reach Honfleur sadly enough. What a beautiful and picturesque view this is, and you've done it proud! If it weren't for the ripples on the water, it would be like a sheet of glass. A terrific composition under even light, there's much to admire from corner to corner of this image. Colorful and well detailed, you put together an enviable display of the city. Enjoy the new week. Take good care.

A dodatkowo to piekne niebo!
claudeD (39307) 2014-01-20 6:16
very fine picture from Honfleur showing very good colors and reflections in the water. I like your contribution to TE here very much , seems to me like a painting.Very well done.TFS.

Looks like a busy little harbor. Nicely captured with good lighting and sharp details. I like the reflections on the water. Well done, tfs.
mkamionka (37259) 2014-01-21 12:34

Malgorzata, Malgorzata, Malgorzata, Malgorzata, Malgorzata, Malgorzata, Malgorzata, Malgorzata, Malgorzata, Malgorzata, Malgorzata, Malgorzata, Malgorzata, Malgorzata, Malgorzata, Malgorzata, Malgorzata, Malgorzata, Malgorzata, Malgorzata, Malgorzata, Malgorzata, Malgorzata, Malgorzata...
What are you doing!!!!
Don't fall into that tacky and cheesy HDR trap, you will loose all your credibility as a respectable photographer!!!!
Okay, you are still border, your photo still retains some of its natural quality, but as soon as it becomes detectable, the damage is done!... :-p)) There's a bit of teasing in my comment, but also some truth.
Don't get me wrong, your photo is really beautiful and restitute the splendor of Honfleur under the best of light, but maybe it didn't need that disneyland treatment. If there was any value or merit in such effect, you would see it in National Geographic, Geo, or your favorite travel magazines.
This is a naive distraction, an embarrassing disguise, like an inch of make-up, lipstick and fake eyelashes on the most beautiful woman.
It's forbidding and anything except natural and artistic.
Please don't hate me Malgorzata, I just speak my mind in all honesty and with constructive and friendly intention, and I feel it would be a shame for a good photographer like you to succumb to such a deceiving visual disgrace.
But at the end, these are your photos, your souvenirs, your work, and you do it your way... I couldn't help but to communicate my visceral hatred of this ridicule treatment that takes away all the quality, nobility and dignity in photography.
Regards and respect!
P.S.: If you think I am alone to hate these fake pastel colors, have a look at this website that I have just discovered, where HDR is classified as the worst garbage and crap to ever hit photography.
josepmarin (58359) 2014-01-24 3:49
this nice composition is like a painting, I love its graphical wealth, the beautiful architecture of the city, the reflections on the water of this harbour, the boats, and specially, the aesthetical clouds in the sky.
All elements of the framing provide a great beauty into the ensemble.
Light and colours are very pleasant at sight.
It's a superb work.
