Really not alot to say about this one :)
It just is what it is!
Kids being Kids, Kids having fun and fighting with each other.
We were walking the streets of Havana, and in this little doorway were all of these kids playing. At first they were standing in the street, but then they all jumped into this small space.
I'll add a WS photo where I'm showing the kids the photo on the back of my camera :)
thanks for looking!

Dans tous les pays, les enfants sont toujours là pour "faire le spectacle", au grand plaisir des photographes. Tu as bien exploité ce moment pour réaliser cette amusante et intéressante photo.

Hi Craig, street photographer :)
Funny shot of these smiling kids. In some coutries just the people are most important. It was like this in Myanmar. The kids run after me when they saw that i had a camera and were happy to pose and make funny expression. They just had the joy with it,. And they were not begging like in other countries. I would like to got to Cube, maybe one day.. How you communicate with them? English, Spanish?
Warm regrads MAlgo

hi craig. you definitely enjoyed people photography on streets, the WS is a proof. splendid "cumulation" of kids on doorsteps, the scene looks like a loud one, and the wide angle effect is superb. you will see very similar scenes in istanbul too. don't forget to bring your ultra wide smile :)
Royaldevon (23372) 2013-12-20 1:07
Again, a wonderfully candid shot.
This is what boys love to do, tumble over each other in playful, mock-aggressive, affection! We can imagine being there! It is so honest!
And, the w/s completes the story! The would have been buzzing to see how they had looked on the shot!
Have a great day,
krzychu30 (14342) 2013-12-20 1:26

You were able to capture and convey here perfectly joyful and carefree attitude of these kids.Pure fun!

Hello Craig. Funny photo. The four boys participate very well in the scene. Quite a fancy door behind, not so Havana-looking. It must have been a good moment. I'd like to return to Cuba eventually. Best regards, Claude.
p.s. I'm a stubborn user of the beta version and I just have a laptop; thanks for using a reasonable size; perfect like that.

Another good street life scene in Cuba, of this pack of boys
Again good and original use of an ultra wide angle lens
have a nice WE, best regards

What a great group portrait of these kids acting the goat. The doorway makes fine frame, containing all the action. First class technical presentation.

never seen so many shots from you involving humans. What's occurring mate you turned over a new leaf? This is a delight though and it is superbly captured. If children made the world's rules it would be such a better place eh? Wonderful image Craig.
Have a good weekend - Brian.

C'est une chose que j'ai remarquée à Cuba. Les enfants semblent heureux et sont toujours souriants. Ils aiment beaucoup s'amuser. Ici, tu as su capter un très beau moment de cette vie quotidienne dans l’île.
KristinsCamera (2371) 2013-12-20 7:19
a lovely pile-up of these kids, all arms and legs, and funny faces :)
i like the off center framing and the contrast of all this wriggly young life set against the old stone facade. nice capture, craig ~

Hello Craig - What a tangle of arms and legs! I love this, it's full of young boys' liveliness and I love the way they are crammed into the doorway. Love the harmonious colour palette too and the skin tones you present are beautiful.
Warm regards Rosemary

Yes, kids are kids, and these look like pretty good actors as well. They are working hard to give you a good and lively picture. They placed themselves very nicely in the doorway which gave you a good composition. I notice with some interest that three of them wear simple flip-flops but the fourth is equipped with sturdy sneakers.
Have a nice weekend,

Ciao e buon fine settimana

Lep pogled na veselu decu ...
Dobar trenutak snimka i kontrast, lepe boje.
Dobar rad, lepo ulovljen trenutak.
Deca su nase najvece bogatstvo u buducnost.
Imajte lep dan, sve najbolje za vikend, srecno.
Nice view of joyful children ...
Good time recording and contrast, beautiful colors.
Good work, beautiful captured moments.
Children are our most valuable asset in the future.
Have a nice day, all the best for the weekend, good luck.

Without reading the caption my comment was a great capture of the spontaneity of kids being kids. Then I read the caption and our words are almost identical! Good framing with plenty of space near the feet. Easy to overlook when you are focused on their faces! Tfs!
worldcitizen (6021) 2013-12-20 16:46
More fun from Cuba! These boys seem to be typical kids, fooling around, and probably tumbling to the ground a bit, too. :-) This door looks like it's in great shape compared to other crumbling ones that we usually see. I like their fascination with your camera in the WS photo, too.
delpeoples (50263) 2013-12-20 21:43
Of all your people shots in your entire Gallery, this is my favourite. It's so fun, both in terms of the subject matter and obviously went on behind and in front of the camera before and after the shot was taken. These kids are diamonds, full of spirit and fun. These kind of photos make me think of what kind of future they'll have beyond those smiles and the mischief making. I hope they live happy, healthy, full and prosperous lives. Top shot, congrats my friend.
seb1lopez (187) 2013-12-20 23:38
there are things to add and say: it is well framed with the kids on the left, and the natural frame made by the door , and the bodies and legs of the kids filling this space in various positions is really great and dynamic! if one of them would have look to the lense it would have been absolutly perfect. very nice pic!!!
mesutilgim (75516) 2013-12-21 6:15
Children are children. No matter if in Cuba or in Turkey !
Nice capture with perfect timing.
TFS and best regards
saxo042 (35146) 2013-12-21 6:19
A well composed picture or did you direct them "one arm up a bit and that leg more to the left...". A very fine collection of happy kids!
Noel_Byrne (16143) 2013-12-21 8:54
I know you mentioned in one of the earlier posts from Cuba that the people here are friendly and happy to be in your lens, and this is certainly a fine example of that! They look like they are jostling for the best position to get in the frame, how rare for that with street photography! It’s a fun shot, and a lively shot, and a beautiful example of the art of street shooting. Nobody could possibly not smile on seeing this!
All the best

A photo-realistic, with this group of kids, raised factly, as they play and joke, is a fun and realistic picture of life itself.
Excellent brightness and very good focus.
Very good job.
Enjoy a happy weekend.

Merry Christmas for you and your family
I find your workshop picture very realistic with the boys around the camera.
Also these picture care for a active picture with a small fighting between the guys.
Excellent composition, lovely presentation.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice Sunday,
ktanska (23142) 2013-12-22 4:41
Somehow i find the effect of wide and close angle and that leaning posture of the guys incredibly well fitting. Fun shot full of spontaneity. I don't know if you know Spanish, but you just couldn't tell them to take that pose!
CLODO (27474) 2013-12-22 6:06
So you had good actors and they follow the story telling you've written! Kids will be always kids!
But I don't like here the use of you ultra wide angle, legs are lengthen and even the left boy'shead is deformed. You had time to change your lens and take the picture because it's not a snapshot taken as far as you saw the scene.
Cricri (95323) 2013-12-22 8:57
Petit groupe d'amis amusant devant la caméra, assez marrant leurs attitudes, une image bien sympathique présenter en WS
claudeD (28211) 2013-12-23 8:26
very fine picture showing the happyness of the children of HAvanna. Perfect sharpness andcolors.Very well done.TFS.
With regards from Luxembourg and merry Xmas for you and your family ...
jcpix (8296) 2013-12-23 13:09
Two words...love it!! This right here feels to be the essence of childhood, simply having a good time and mugging for the camera. :) Much like your previous, this captures an emotional type of connection with the cities inhabitants and their personality. How can you not help but smile by simply seeing these expressions and candor? A true life moment, and an irresistible charm.
I'm short on time, gotta' run for now...but here's to wishing you a very Merry Christmas my friend. Take good care.
Cheers from snowy SLC,
Mics (395) 2013-12-25 23:43
Wow! Fine candid moment you got :-)
Waylim (24302) 2013-12-26 12:06
Excellent shot of the children at play. I love this type of images of people around the world. Love the distortion of the lens, it shows you are relatively close up right at their level and not from the top looking down. They seem to have a great time roughing around, boys will be boys, wonderful moment captured.
Thanks. Happy Holidays.
