Brilliant sunset alpenglow light on Mount Owen, 12,928 feet, and the Grand Teton, 13,770 feet, as seen from Cascade Creek to the northwest - July. Photo ©2006 by Jack Brauer.
The weather the entire day was overcast and drizzling, but I set up my camera anyways before sunset time. I thought I started seeing hints of a warmer reddish light on the peak but friend thought I was crazy... but a few minutes later the peaks lit up with some of the most amazing light I've witnessed.
You can see more of my photos from Wyoming and the Tetons here.

Beautiful shot! Like the affect of the water with the slow shutter spead, and the reddish glow of the mountains

It takes effort to haul 4x5 gear into the wilderness, and I am happy for you that it paid off as brilliantly as this. You don't often get to see this much latitude so well presented in this early age of digital photography, and this must be a marvel to see in its original transparency. My only comment would be on the banding, or lines of tone, in the sky. A very minor issue, and certainly part of compression for this site and not present in the original form, but something to think about for future postings.
Lastly, I hope there is a curve that we can't see in the creek, and you didn't have to get your feet cold and wet for this shot!

Wow! I recommend finding one of those nature photography sites...and selling this one on it. You'd make ooodles! This is really quite amazing, and a once in a life-timer there. A perfect shot with some wonderful lighting. Really stunning.

Beautiful use of the low light in the valley shrouded in the gentle shadow with the brillant peaks highlighted by the setting sun.

Great shot. Of course it caught my eye as I had seen it on SummitPost just last week. Great to see another so appreciative of the mountains. Living in NJ its a little tough to get there but photos like this just bring me back.

Excellent colors and sharpness. Water is nice and soft - just as it should be seen... Then we have this incredible view of the mountain. What a beauty - fantastic picture.
