Photographer's Note

Another post of Graça Fortress or La Lippe Fortress, situated on Graça Mount, around 1 km far from Elvas. Considered a very powerful and original fortress, it was built in the 18th century, following the plans of Marshall Count La Lippe, according to the orders of the Marquis of Pombal, as part of a plan to reorganize the Portuguese Army. 6000 men and 4000 animals have worked on the construction for thirty years.
Later it became a prison and now it's abandoned.
What we see here is a detail of one of the balconies that we can find in the House of the Governor.

Hello Ana,
A very nicely composed picture. The deliberate tilt has a fine effect. Now we have three diagonal areas of mainly yellow, white/grey and blue. The rough surface and the peeling paint is accentuated by the excellent sharpness and contrasts.

What wonderful strong contrasts and saturations. Blue and yellow contrast so superbly and here is no exception. The texture and diagonal perspective are also added bonuses to a magnificent composition.

Olá, amiga Ana,
escogiste un encuadre inclinado muy creativo, que funciona eficazmente para crear un fuerte efecto visual, y al mismo tiempo ofrecernos el bonito grafismo de este elemento arquitectónico de la Casa del Gobernador, en un buen plano cerrado.
La nitidez de la imagen, su luminosidad y sus colores están al máximo nivel de calidad. Y el cielo tan bien polarizado añade mucha potencia a la foto.

Hi Ana,

This looks like a wondeful use of a polarising filter to get such a strong blue in the sky. I really like the diagonal line from top right to bottom left and the tattiness to the paint adds a very nice textural contrast between the buildings and the sky.
