A view out to sea of Eastbourne Pier in East Sussex, England. Lovingly painted in royal blue and white it was opened on the 13th June 1870, with a theatre and bar inside the Victorian tower, at the end, being added in 1899/1901. It is Grade II listed and was restored extensively in 2003.

A fine symmetrical composition captured under a good light. I like the shadow play and the excellent depth. Superb colours and sharpness. Have an enjoyable week,

Good Morning Brian - Love the saturated blue; it works so well on the railings which really pull me into the frame. The nice strong shadows add to the lines of perspective and the whole image has a wonderful symmetry and graphic appeal. The soft clouds make a fine contrast. Lovely shot. Warm regards rosemary

You chose the most classic angle but the most beautiful.
The handrail of the pier leads us to the background toward the of Eastbourne Pier building.
Lovely depth and perspective image.
Excellent composition, nice presentation.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice new week,

Splendid architectural composition with nice colors, great perspective and a fantastic sky.Well done!
mjdundee (4663) 2012-10-01 4:36
a blue that hurts the eyes!
Not sure what filter is applied here but the blue of the reiling and the sign dominates this view drastically. Otherwise I think this a very well choosen POV with a perfect sky.TFS.

Hi dear Brian
Oh wow, this is fantastic. Love the low POV, the vertical frame and the impressive depth of field. The wide angle lens has really accentuated the perspective, but your most effective elements are the light management and sensational chromatic rendering. Wow, again, just lovely.
Have a beautiful day
yquem46 (38750) 2012-10-01 5:25
Extremely strong blue saturation at the edge of exaggeration for very esthetic and graphical result
Have a nice day, best regards
JFS (32459) 2012-10-01 5:41
Explosion of blue, the blue leads the eye to the blue, original POV and top sharpness, as usual.
Have a good day!

Wonderfully executed image. You captured this beautiful blue pier perfectly well. Very beautiful colors of this pier which stand out with also beautiful architecture and fabulous presentation of this spectacular place. Magnificent tranquil atmosphere at this photo. I like it a lot. Congratulation. Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful symmetry and the rich blue of the railings is echoed in the equally rich sky. We are nicely drawn into the shot with those perfectly anchored rails and your usual signature sharpness and perfect choice of POV
Thanks for sharing

rychem (27534) 2012-10-01 10:24
You have chosen an interseting POV with the perspective leading to the centre of the photo, beautiful colorful resort archtecture, great shot

Hi dear Brian,
siudzi (34131) 2012-10-01 13:48
Very interesting composition taken with a perfect sense of depth and perspective. Exposure, sharpness and saturation have been managed wonderfully. Great image! TFS.
mauro61 (52631) 2012-10-01 14:42
brianmcc (6219) 2012-10-01 15:06
the colours, lines and clarity in this picture all make this a very strong composition. the blue lead in lines are terrific. superb depth of field and sharpness. to top it all off, the white cloud formations appearing to rise from the roof of the central structure into the blue sky are incredible.
carlo62 (38094) 2012-10-01 15:31
RegisMinot (1543) 2012-10-01 15:37
It is sometimes useful to date colour saturation. The picture is really transformed as the eye cannot detach from the bridge. Well done !

Good Morning Brian,
This is a 'study in blue'.
I love the way those vivid blue railings link with the blue sign and, eventually the blue sky.
The shadows are well captured, for they reveal the stepped nature of the pier.
A sharp, tight composition, perfectly suited to the vertical format.
Have a lovely day,
BennyV (14333) 2012-10-02 1:39
Super blues, saturated all the way up to the brim, just a tiny bit more and it would have been way too much. As it is, it works and really brings out the strict composition of the scene. Only the shadows 'distort' the parallellism of the pov. And shadows have a right to do that, haha!
Eastbourne always reminds me of that naughty Kevin Coyne song...
Enjoy your week.
dkmurphys (52285) 2012-10-02 5:55
Very fine perspective and lovely blue saturated colors. Nice catch, enjoy a fine afternoon.
macjake (60664) 2012-10-03 6:30
When i see these Blues, i know its you!
and fine symmetrical and well balanced photo.
again, the cloud coverage makes a difference in the overall sense, enhancing the scene well.
I also like the long line of shadows.
crisp and clear!
npecanhuk (69552) 2012-10-03 17:04
Wonderful man-made elements!
Very beautiful and attractive picture!
Sharpness, exposure, colors, vertical format, contrasts, chosen pov and symmetrical composition are all oustanding photo qualities!
TFS - congrats,
annjackman (20743) 2012-10-04 22:59
This picture bears your photographic signature with its saturated blue and very fine graphism. I like the empty pier, symmetry and shadows. Great depth and a fine sky. Excellent.
Kind Regards, Ann
yaya13baut (3344) 2012-10-07 9:14
the light, the colours, the composition, the frame... everything is well managed, as usual.
CLODO (31715) 2012-10-07 9:45
The symetry was mandatory in this case, and with the blue railings lead our eye to the tower in the background.
Bandit (2360) 2012-10-09 2:40
