The church of St Simon & St Jude in the little village of East Dean in East Sussex, England. This old flint church has a tower that dates from Saxon times and was extensively improved by the Normans after the conquest of Britain in 1066.

This is a picturesque stoned church . You've have perfectly composed the picture , placing the cross between the bell tower and the tree .
A beautiful light and a superb blue sky .

Your positioning of the stone cross is very effective, making a strong focal image and very clearly establishing the sense of perspective.
Great clarity, saturation and excellent light.

I must admit, March was much better than April, or May!

Hi Brian!
I'm not too fond of cemeteries but those from the northern hemisphere are quite photo-friendly and you did a great photo job here too!
Sharpness, exposure, colors, chosen pov, horizontal format, contrasts and composition are all excellent!

Hello Brain - The decorative grave stone in this shot is a wonderful FP. I wish I could read the inscription to get an idea of age. It looks, design-wise similar to a Celtic Cross but the swirling know design also remind me of the Art's and Crafts Movement. A peaceful spot and a well kept church yard by the look of things. Punchy light contrasts with good sharpness & vibrant colour & saturation. Good repetition of the gravestones, unless of course they are all close friends or family! Not so great when that happens! I like the tall fg Maltese style cross breaking the pattern, or is it a Celtic cross? Tfs!

Hello Brian,

A lovely note and a beautiful photograph of this wonderfully simple little church.

The composition is perfect, the church itself being balanced beautifully by the large (?Celtic style) cross in the right foreground. Lovely colours, perfect lighting and exposure and stunning sharpness.
