Photographer's Note
Dunure Castle, situated on the South Ayrshire coast.
Like many other scottish castles, this has a turbulent history. Built in the 13th century, eventual stronghold of the Kennedy Clan [ the Scottish one]
a silent [but not spared] witness to battles and to gory deeds[ such as the "roasting" on fire of an opponent by one of its erstwhile owners, Gilbert Kennedy ]. The victim seemingly survived the ordeal but was unable to walk again. The Culprit went on to perform other suitable crimes.
One of its other claims to fame seems to be the visit of Mary , Queen of Scots for 3 days from August 1563[ What record keeping, Man!], and must have certainly spent at least some of her time enjoying the wonderful Coastal scenery.
My first visit to this castle was with the intention of catching it at sunset, but when I reached it, the sun had been and gone, leaving the sky a purple and blue, and the castle almost invisible in the dark. The camera has better eyes though and picked up the scant light form the houses on the coast, much to my surprise.
Do let me know your thoughts.

Hi Manoj,
What a wonderfully interesting note and what a fine moody picture with which to illustrate it!
I'm just wonderfing how long an exposure you needed for this one - probably a few seconds, I reckon. But you have caught the available light perfectly. The sky is beautiful and the reddish light on the castle ruins gives it a wonderfully eerie appearance well in keeping with its troubled history.
Perfect exposure and excellent detail and sharpness.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.
P.S. If you're really into night photography, you should have a look at the gallery of one of my favourites on TrekLens - Daniel Orimoloye - his night pictures (though mainly in cities like London) are absolutely stunning!

Hello Manoi,
nice the view of the castle of Dunure during the twilight, with the pink colours of the sky to fall on the ruins of it,making the scene more effective and unique.I like the light and the colour management as the beauty of the place.
Regards,Danos
