Diu Fortress, a photo from Daman and Diu, West

Photographer's Note

This is just a small part of the huge Fortress of Diu. Diu has been a Portuguese possession from 1535 until 1961, when it was conquered by the troops of the Indian Union.
As a witness of that long period, we can still see several churches, as St. Thomas Church, that I've already shown and that we can see here in background and specially this huge and impressive fort.

A parte la bellezza e l'imponenza del luogo, voglio porre l'accento sul bel POV scelto, che mette in primo piano il cannone per lasciare in BG la chiesa e le mura di cinta.
Molto buona la luce e la naturalezza dei colori.

An interesting viewpoint and i like the positions of everything, the way you've filled the frame. Each element of the photo invites you to look a little more and wonder. but I do like the dof you have chosen. It's an intriguing subject with lots of detail and the colours work really well in it. very interesting historical site, I know that Portuguese influence used to be very strong there still I can't associate these cannons with India somehow:))
Nice angle, though I think it would have been better if the first cannon hadn't been cropped.

Haven't been to Diu myself...have gone to Daman. Interesting picture from the top of the fort...To me the church visible in the far BG is a strong focal point. The cannons create a nice FG as well.

Beautiful point of view here, including the cannons and teh fort, they both look perfect together. Its a beautiful ruin, and the texture of the wood on the wheels suits the image really well, as do the flagstones leading off into the distance. Great shot, and thanks for sharing
