Taken at Crown Fountain in Millennium Park in Chicago. This is a public art and digital video sculpture designed by Jaume Plensa. LEDs are used to display the videos and apparently most of the videos are of local residents. The area is quite large with a black granite reflecting pool between a pair of glass brick towers. The children (and adults) have great fun running through the spray.

how cool is that!
and you picked an excellent title for the photo too.
seems like somebody IS watching :)

An excellent shot !
I thought that it was rain falling cats and dogs at first glance
Excellent contrast of the gray wall with the colorful face at BG
I wonder how it's done, is it a painting or made with stones of different colors.... ?
Welcome presence of the man walking in your compo
have a nice WE, best regards

Perfect framing to create this superb atmospheric composition that also boasts some excellent graphism. Ideally exposed to capture the water droplets.

Ciao e buona domenica
kasianowak (8909) 2014-01-26 5:43
Excellent work! Perfect timing and crop. The human figure provides the sense of scale for the giant face in the background and there is just enough blur in the drops of water to create a sense of mystery.
CLODO (34164) 2014-01-26 5:50
the fountains are always attractice and it's a good subject mainly when you have someone. the bick face in bricks is also eye catching.
have a sunny sunday

That's a wonderful picture taken in that very interesting, attractive and unique Fountain in Chicago!
Special regards, of course, to the vertical format, choen pov and composition but all the other photo qualities are excellent too!
TFS - congrats,

Or Big Sister at any rate. Great shot: excellent composition, the inclusion of the walking figure is important; and the discrepancies of scale are suitably and interestingly disorientating.
ourania (45344) 2014-01-26 7:12
a superb composition in a vertical frame, all the areas and perspectives have been arranged with great sense of balance. Both the graphism and the space of this view are perceived by the viewer in a very effective and pleasing way. The texture of the water and the way the drops reflect the light are mesmerizing. It's striking and delightful to see everything so clearly through the veil of water drops. The glint in the giant eye is captivating too. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely day,

A very interesting picture of this impressive work of art. A good inclusion of the man here to show the size of the art. He also brings life to the picture.A well composed picture.

Top shot Ann. Original, creatively composed and managed and an image that shows your ability to see 'out-of-the-box'. Just the style of photograph I admire you for. Have a good week.... are you getting dry yet? Warm regards Rosemary

Very nice presentation! I've seen photos of this fountain before, but your vertical crop is very effective, and I like the splashing water in the foreground. It was perfect to capture one person in the frame; he looks so tiny in front of that giant face!
fabbs99 (17167) 2014-01-26 19:09
This is really nice shot .I love to see the water drizzling down from the fountain.Really amazing scenery.Very well done. Thanks for sharing.

What an artistic and innovative photo! Excellent timing, observation and opportunism shown to take this photo. Very unique indeed. I was wondering how this will look in monochrome. So I tried it and it looks equally good if not better!. Nice photography, liked it a lot. Thanks for sharing.

A very interesting note about this remarkable display!
And you have captured this scene perfectly in your own inimitable manner - in fact, as soon as I saw this one I just knew that it was one of yours!
Your composition is just perfect, obeying all the rules of composition and also being most pleasing. You have made a very wise choice of shutter speed too - 1/500th second - because we can still see movement in the falling drops of water. Actually, if I were trying to capture a scene like this, I think I would have gone for something like 1/60th second but obviously that would have been far, far to slow. Your shutter speed, surprisingly, has been spot-on. Presumably the water drops were falling from some considerable height.
Lovely light and colours, perfect exposure and your usual exquisite details and sharpness.
RhodieIke (11744) 2014-01-31 22:38
Love this, the water droplets are fantastic, then we view through them on to the gent being nearly kissed by the giant lips from the giant mural or poster of this smiling lady. Very well managed and presented.
Have a nice weekend, lets hope for a break in all this rain.
emka (97489) 2014-02-01 2:15
This is an amazing photo. First of all the big portrait contrasted with a small figure, very impressive. But also very attractive view of this weeping granite tower. Perfect composition, superb presentation of a fascinating place./

Best in Show, to record the angle
It combines a frame in vertical format
Looking at the photo viewer, utopian space, with record rain
Have a good evening, and every moment of life, enjoy

Your title makes me smiling, very good idea and nice photo of this "falling rain". Compliments
ktanska (27644) 2014-02-03 11:04
That is very imaginative piece of art! And your vision of it looks great too. Those splashes of water really sparkle! Before reading your note I wondered if the face was painted on bricks or are the bricks painted too. Video screen didn't come to my mind.
mjw364 (1054) 2014-02-10 3:13
Stunning image. Creative, original and artistic! My kind of image! Absolutely love it! One of those I wish I had taken myself. Well done.

And the spray gives a wonderful effect here. You framed it so well with the video in background and the person passing. Well chosen format and very good light on the drops. A great shot!
subhendu_bagchi (26089) 2014-02-24 18:32
wow! This is interesting and caught my eyes straight at the first sight. Excellent picture quality. Nice graphism. I admire your light management here. A nice composition indeed. Tfs.
Nard (6972) 2014-03-13 7:13
What a nice picture, I really like it. You have chosen a very good POV and the drops of water give a slendid effect.
Didi (60588) 2014-04-19 11:00
Very good composition
Interesting perspective of the big wall and nice background
Glint (6171) 2014-05-06 3:30
I have not been keeping up with TE members posts and so alighted on this one of yours because of its clever title. There is something of interest here from fg to bg. The male figure gives us a sense of proportion and your composition adds to the pleasing graphic quality of this place.
Noel_Byrne (31114) 2015-09-08 11:40
I've seen this place before and it does look like great fun and a wonderful idea for a public space. Your vision of it though is unique and sub. The silver water captured in mid air like this is wonderful and such a contract to the darker area behind. Dark as it is, it has that huge warm smile whose size it put to scale by the man in blue walking across the front. Even the color of his jacket works so beautifully with the vivid red lips. Really brilliant photo.
