GRE:Το λιμάνι των Χανίων ονομάζεται Σούδα και αποτελεί ένα πολύ σημαντικό λιμάνι της Ανατολικής Μεσογείου, ενώ μαζί με το λιμάνι του Ηρακλείου καθιστούν την Κρήτη μείζον εμπορικό κέντρο στη λεκάνη της Μεσογείου. Κατά τους καλοκαιρινούς μήνες υπάρχει καθημερινή σύνδεση του λιμανιού των Χανίων, στη Σούδα, με το λιμάνι του Πειραιά. Το παραδοσιακό, ενετικό λιμάνι βρίσκεται στη βόρεια πλευρά της πόλης των Χανίων. Σημεία κατατεθέντα στην είσοδο του λιμανιού αυτού αποτελούν ο Βενετικός φάρος,το κάστρο και το θολωτό τζαμί.

ENG:The ferry port of Chania is actually located 6 km / 4 miles to the east of Souda; however, disembarking passengers should have no problem in reaching Chania, as there is a regular bus service available as well as plenty of taxis plying the route.Passengers arriving by car should be aware that parking around the port area can be limited during the busy summer months.
Facilities at the port itself are limited to a few vending machines, telephones and public conveniences; although within a short walk of the terminal you will find a number of shops and restaurants that cater to the large number of passengers who pass through the port everyday.

Hello Chris ,
First , welcome to TE .
Your pictures are beautiful and interesting , even they seem a little too dark for my taste .
This is a superb view of the entry of the harbour . The sky is superb . May be it would have been better if the horizon line was not centered (with only one third for the sea); And the horizon line is a little tilted to the left .
Hope you don't mind for these little (and humble)advices .

Hello Chris,

Your POV and subject is really good. The distance in the water betweem the shores gives deepness and the clouds in the sky form a nice background. I allowed my self to do a WS, cutting the water to bring it to one third, get the horizon in line and I toyed with the levels of dark and light tones and added contrast. Hope you like it.

πολύ όμορφη εικόνα από την υπέροχη είσοδο του λιμανιού, με θαυμάσια χρώματα και αντιθέσεις μέσα στο ζεστό απογευματινό φως. Το κεντράρισμα της εισόδου και η θέα στ' ανοιχτά δίνει την εντύπωση ότι προσμένουμε κάποια άφιξη. Μου αρέσει πολύ η μεγάλη αντίθεση ανάμεσα στα χρώματα θάλασσας και ουρανού, το φως και η ατμόσφαιρα!

Nice composed waterscape image. But a bit dark and a bit out of horizontal line. Just small turning would bring in into prfect horizontal position. Well done.

Hi Chris,

you're capturing well this harbour and it's entry by rich tone, so it's interesting and impressive to see the color contrast of bay and sky, and loghthouse. And, the mountain which is beyond visible draws out an additional good atmosphere. It's better to crop the lower side of bay in my opinion.

Dear Chris,
there are already a lot of images of this interesting port here but you have found a unique POV and then you were lucky concerning the sky! Very fascinating light that creates these dark colors of the water. It is a wonderful image despite the slight tilt. My compliments!

It is a nice shoto of Chania harbour. I like the pov with the lighthouse on the right side and buildings on the left side. Good presentation, compo, sharpness.

Hi Chris,
I like the composition with the bay opening onto the wide sea, and the hills in the horizon.
I also like the contrast between the deep blue sea, the royal, blue sky and the golden jetties. Was this taken at sundown ?
Perhaps, it IS a little dark.
The WS creators have done a good job.

Impressive sharpness of details even smaller and 'excellent achievement. I personally for my taste the 'I made a little' clearer and in this case, more details should be highlighted. Excellent well-saturated color and warm. Great job and thanks for sharing.

This harbour has a perfect square in shape, as i remember, chris. Also, many restaurants and bars around the place and a marine-museum on the far left-side end seen here.
The colors looks as taken through with a filter, that dense a bit the saturated colors, but not a big issue to count.
