Photographer's Note

A view on Brownshill dolmen, a few kilometers east of Carlow, co Carlow. It was built between 4000 and 3000 BC by some of the earliest farmers to inhabit the island of Ireland. The capstone weights an estimated 100 metric tons and is reputed to be the heaviest in Europe. It stands in a field and can be reached via a footpath from a car park off R726 road.
