Photographer's Note

A true natural jewel of Umbria, the sources of Clitumnus, for suggestions that evoke, are the ideal place to understand the interplay between religion and the environment. Here, pools of water with intense colors and lush vegetation create an environment of incomparabel beauty.
Dedicated to the God Clutumno, personifications of the river where he uttered his oracles, already famous in Roman times and celebrated by Propertius, Pliny and Virgil in their writings, these waters have more recently inspired poets like Byron and Carducci, painters such as Corot and still gush from the rock fractures and are collected in a lovely lake.
