Photographer's Note
The view from High Point Restaurant in Coal Center, Pennsylvania, at an elevation of 247 m (810 ft) above the winding Monongahela River. Minuscule coal and steel mill towns, each featuring immigrants from a single European nationality — Irish, Slovak, Czech, Polish, Italian... line the shores, and from this elevation appear like miniature villages. Tugboats frequently pushing six or seven coal-filled barges negotiate the tight bends in the river, even passing each other on the way. The flowering plants add color highlight in the panoramic image created by stitching four photos shot in vertical format.
I was in the town of California, Pennsylvania, home to the California University of Pennsylvania, CalU, to give a pair of talks. I had been lured initially by a chance to see Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpiece, "Fallingwater". It was a pleasant surprise to see a dynamic and happy student body, exuding enthusiasm and hospitality.

Excellent point de vue sur ce superbe méandre. Dommage qu'une des photos du stich n'ait pas été faite avec les mêmes réglages d'exposition que les autres, ce qui donne une différence très importante de luminosité dans le ciel.

Hi My friend
Nice and fantastic shoehorse.
Just one difference for the sky colour on the right.
The best solution in this case is to measure the lights in the middle and block the measures with a little under exposition. Then take the other picture with the same measure.
By the way Autopano software is able to resolve this problem.
Warm regards

Hello Bulent,
Regularly we see pictures on TE of a horseshoe-shaped meander of the Colorado River. So there's also one in Pennsylvania.
Actually there is not so much similarity between both meanders or between the landscapes.
This looks like a beautiful place to live in a nice green environment.
The sunlight gives the water a beautiful colour and the purple flowers on the FG add even more colour.
Excellent composition and framing.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Bulent,
For a moment I thought you had been to the more famous loop at Lake Powell, but this is equally stunning in its own way. The flowering purple tree in the fg is a nice addition & the oxbow curve of the meandering river is superb. Tfs!

What a fantastic Point of View, made even more beautiful by the knowledge that it was taken from a restaurant where you no doubt enjoyed a good meal. Wonderful spring colours, excellent sharpness and the way you composed it has demonstrated exquisitely the unusual shape of this river. Wonderful shot.

A very nice view of Monongahela, with an excellent narrative making me visit again an unknown area of the USA.
The unusual geography is appealing as well as the purple vegetation.

Hello Bulent,
The landscape looks a bit like an eye. The stitch is well done despite a discrepancy in the sky exposure. The spectacular landscape is neatly framed. The foreground color is cleverly integrated into the composition. Bravo.
Have a nice day

Hello Bulent
Now, this is truly interesting. I`ve seen many pictures of the horseshoe bend in the Colorado river, but I didn`t know about this one until now. This is a fine capture of the river. The pink/purple plants indeed creates an interesting foreground and adds a fine touch of contrast to the scene. Very nice work:) TFS. Have a nice week.

Hello Bulent,
You're capturing well this beautiful landscape by a good panoramic view and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the river which goes an island around, town and surrounding nature. Here seems to peaceful place. And, the pink flower at right under draws out an additional good impact in this image as well as random clouds in the sky. Tasteful photograph!
Kind regards,

Hi Bulent,
beautiful turn of the river. It reminds me of course the famous horseshoe bend in Arizona or another one in Germany. Such a lovely spot, very well presented here. I was not aware of another California in the US. Very funny and interesting.

Hello Professor 'A'
Monongahela is certainly an uncommon name...would you know the origins?
The horse shoe bend is as perfect as its famous & much more photographed counterpart. The wide view looks good especially with the colourful flowers in the FG. The stitching has been done pretty well...how many pictures was this stitched from?
With Warmest Regards

By shooting 4 photos and stitching them your capture is quite personal and creative, never read about "shoehorse", a kind of lens?
Lots of work and a good result

Hi Bulent:
Great view of the (almost unpronounceable) Monongahela River. You could try dodging the lower coreners with the PS dodge tool set to a very large size, "shadows" and low exposure to get more detail there.
Falling Water is great, and of course its a pity there are such strict rules about showing photos of it.

Bulent,
This is simply BEAUTIFUL. The POV, light, sharpness and contrasts make this look alive as if one can actually see the river flowing under a cloudy, Spring sky.
Thank you very much for sharing.
