Woke up early one morning while on a weekend break at the Broads, looked out of the window and instantly new it was going to be a fantastic sunrise and the light and mood were superb, and here we have one of the glimpse through the trees over the broads on to the beautiful sunrise with all it's gorgeous colours. Hope you like it as much as I enjoyed viewing it first hand. I have also posted WORKSHOP as I can not decide which is my favourite.

Those dry trees silhouette with the muted sunrise colours in the BG creates an effective haunting atmosphere although we know there is going to be lot of sunlight soon. Good idea which has been well executed to shoot the rising sun through these naked trees. Very beautiful natural colors and light. Well seen and well taken. Thanks for sharing.

une belle composition. Les silhouettes des arbres qui se détachent sur ce magnifique soleil couchant créent une ambiance particulièrement agréable. La lumière, les couleurs, le paysage... tout est superbe.

you were well rewarded for the early start, the early morning colours are very attractive with the naked trees, including the nest box, making interesting shapes to complement them.

I love the colours and mood of the early morning shot.
Some feedback to help choose between the two images. I personally prefer the cropped version in the workshop because (to me) it is simpler and places more emphasis on the sky and its reflections. The silhouetted vegetation then acts more as an interesting frame than a main feature. The bird box is interesting but is distractive (for me). The vegetation to the left of the bird box does not add much to the image. However, having said that, when I view the thumbnails side by side I am more inclined to open your main posting. It seems to have a better balance. Maybe there are some other cropping options that will take the best out of both images. I hope these comments are useful.

Trees silhouettes and the golden morning light, made this an exquisite photo, Iain.
From the place stood, you very well collected the lake smooth water surface in view, reflection some trees on a lines ashore, and a nice artificial nest I see on one branch.
Lovely taken, cheers.
Enjoy your weekend,

The early morning sunrise is looking quite good through your camera. Excellent colors, the dry trees are looking good in silhouette. Very well done.

Wonderful sunrise colours in the sky and well reflected in the water.
You show this in an excellent composed picture in which I especially like the silhouettes of the numerous branches of the trees.
Best regards, Paul

On balance I think I prefer the cropped version but only marginally so. The bare trees make an excellent set of silhouettes set against that fiery sky. The image is well exposed and has superb colours and clarity. The reflections in the water are particularly attractive and contribute much to the atmosphere of the composition.
To answer your question the weather down here has not been particularly brilliant as of light, though probably not as bad as the UK, basically mild and rather damp with the occasional high winds.

une photo bien équilibrée entre le fonce et la couleur feu du ciel et reflets dans l'eau

Hi lain. A really nice and atmospheric photo. Only early birds have the opportunity for such photos. I like the colors, silence and beauty of this photo.

Very nice sunrise (unlike many sumsets here) from Suffolk.
Nice layout and very good sharpness.
TFS and have a nice weekend

Un levé du soleil tout en douceur dans les couleurs qui ce reflète dans l'eau, ce qui rend la scène encore plus séduisante, bon cadrage des arbres dans l'ombre, belle version présenter aussi en WS, compliment

I like both pictures but this one is my favourite because the skeletal tress are so lovely silhouetted against the sunrise. Very well handled exposure and sharpness. The only thing that bothers me just a touch is the large black area on the left - perhaps a small crop? Nevertheless, gorgeous photography - TFS.
Kind Regards, Ann

So nice to see you back here on TE, you've been missed! What a cracker this shot is! You captured an amazing light experience here, and you captured it so expertly. The colours are magnificent, accentuated by the contrasting sillhouettes of the bare trees. Wow, the reflections on the water are pure magic. The early bird has certainly caught the worm here!

The saying "Early birds get the bluegrass" applies to this outstanding chinese-puppet scenery featuring the lace of trees on standby for the sun salutation!

So romantic sunset captured near a wetland Iain, only the trees' silouhettes are visible, beautiful pastel hues, good depth
