An incoming tide wets the pebbles under the Palace Pier, as late afternoon November sunshine bathes the seaside resort of Brighton, in East Sussex, England.

Ciao e buona giornata

A very creative composition with fantastic perspective. I like how the wall starts in the far right corner of the frame and leads the eye further into the image. The vertical frame adds to the impressive depth, and your excellent light management has produced an outstanding capture. A fantastic image flawlessly executed.

Despite the fact that you have been blessed (or cursed) with worse weather than we have and that you've not ventured out with your camera for some time, you clearly still have some wonderful photographs in your archive to enthrall us!
Another splendid photograph of your beloved Brighton Pier with excellent and pleasing composition and lovely colours and light. The details and sharpness are exquisite and I particularly like the bright light on the water beneath the pier too which really enhances the picture beautifully.

all the pebbles are so colorful - no wonder they caught your attention - they look like a giant heap of M&Ms :-) Very beautiful light and great warm colors. The POV seems to be just the best for this scene.
artesia (959) 2013-04-05 6:49
The pier perfectly lit but the the sunshine...
The photo shows you really care about capturing the scene, well thought about the foreground, the wall on the right made such a great depth...
What a lovely lovely scene..

Awesome POV, Brian - following both the pier and the retaining wall here. The late sun on the pier itself is just beautiful, and add in the fading blue sky for a perfect late afternoon tone. It's the water, I think, that really pulls this one together, though - you captured it at the right moment, white and frothy, advancing over the colorful pebbles of the beach toward the camera. Nice one!

I like the point of view: the diagonal lines of
the pier and the wall creates a lots of depth
and the wall makes the picture extra exciting.
The vertical position emphaszie extra the depth.

Smart choice of a vertical format with impeccable sharpness and wonderful warm cold colour contrasts between the orange tinted clouds and blue sky. Good perspective and lead in lines with the dual pier and stone wall at right. Tfs!
