Photographer's Note

Here we can see part of the third panel of the monument paying homage to Borrazopolitan pioneers. This part was created when the artist saw an old photo showing Okumoto family (Japanese immigrants) harvesting coffee during the 1960's. Borrazópolis and all northern-Paraná was a big producer of coffee in the world wide during the 1960's, the city was called "Land of Coffee Trees" and it was told our small municipality produced 1 million of sacks (50 kg)for year. Here we can see the old scenery when the coffee tree was very high and old and it was necessary a ladder to reach the top of the plant. Nowadays the coffee tree is keep in a lower shape.
When I was a child it was impossible to see most part of horizons because the rural roads were surrounded by high plantations of coffee. I saw all horizons of my region first time in 1975 when a terrible frost (minus 3,5 C) killed all the coffee plantation, swapping the history of this region. This image isn't so nice, the light was so strong.
