Photographer's Note
Another shot from my day out at the seaside (please see my recent postings for more details).
I have posted a different version of this image on TL recently - I hope this is OK.
UPDATE: I have posted a WS to correct the horizon.
I found this on the Net...
Once upon a time there was a wise man who used to go to the ocean to do his writing.
He had a habit of walking on the beach before he began his work.
One day he was walking along the shore. As he looked down the beach, he saw a human figure moving like a dancer. He smiled to himself to think of someone who would dance to the day. So he began to walk faster to catch up.
As he got closer, he saw that it was a young man
and the young man wasn't dancing, but instead he was reaching down to the shore, picking up something and very gently throwing it into the ocean.
As he got closer he called out,"Good morning! What are you doing?" The young man paused,
looked up and replied, "Throwing starfish in the ocean."
"I guess I should have asked, why are you throwing starfish in the ocean?"
"The sun is up and the tide is going out.
And if I don't throw them in they'll die."
"But, young man, don't you realize that there are miles and miles of beach and starfish all along it. You can't possibly make a difference!"
The young man listened politely. Then bent down, picked up another starfish and threw it into the sea, past the breaking waves and said-
"It made a difference for that one."

Bonjour Stephen,
Des plages qui n'en fisissent pas, pures et propres, telle est l'idée qui me passe dans la tête à la vue d'un cette superbe et simple composition.
Cadrage vraiment adéquat pour augmenter cette impression de profondeur.
Compliments.
Daniel.

You have my full admiration for this shot, Stephen! Simple but royal, with the seastar gloriously positioned in the foreground. Congrats!

Just beautiful Stephern. The contrast between the beach and the sky, placement of the star fish, distant hills or mountains... The poportion between sky and the beach is very good as well.

Very good composition. It is a pity the horizon is not straight. But I do like this one.

That's a nice story, Stephen.....
I like this one more than the TL-version, here's nothing disturbing. Here's only the starfish and the endless beach, very nice shot !

Stephen this is a simple but beautiful shot. I like the angle that you chose and also the vertical instead of the horizontal frame. Good job.

Surprising one, have to admit, but very pleasing!
The two main colours go well together and the star blends with the BG perfectly.
Lovely textures,

Excelent perspective and fine approach to this seastar on the sand of this beach. Simplicity and a fantastic imaginative result! Very good and nice these last posts.
Congratulations and the best to you :)

Another impressive shot from the seaside. It really looks like a world where the water has vanished. The lone starfish stranded and the endless view of sand really gives it that apocalyptic feel. The lighting helps give it an extra punch as do the clouds. And again the details are just excellent with these grains of sand. Very impressive shot, Stephen.

Lovely shot! Almost looks unreal, especially since I wouldn't have guess that starfish could survive in the clod of Blackpool. A really great capture!
